I'll probably go to the Melb Motor Show, though the FT-86 II concept is my least favorite of all the FT-86 concepts. Maybe they'll surprise us with something different... then again probably not, we never get anything exclusive or interesting in Australia.

Logically from a manufacturing cost point of view... ALL versions of the car will have same sheet metals... there is LITTLE chance they have a different body for the US (under Scion)... its almost ILLOGICAL...

They use the Impreza platform to save money... they wont spend unneccessary millions to make a different body for Scion... which means its a different car altogether.... Manufacturers differentiate cars based on the chassis x body (sheet metal) setup.

If the US gets a different body its a different car from the "Mark II" countries.

From my understanding, the Mark "II" will have some body lines from the Mark "III".... which will finish off as the production shape for ALL countries... with minor differences in the plastic parts... maybe spoiler or no spoiler etc.... or side skirts etc.

There's been a revised press release that says they are using an all-new platform.

So, my wonderful girlfriend booked tickets to go down to Melbourne on the 1st of July. Work gave me the day off too. I'll be down there with my DSLR to get some sweet pics. I'm hoping they'll use the show to make some kind of announcement. Sydney they told us that Australia is definitely getting the production version, hopefully we get a more definite date range or even a price range.
