I don't think it will rust. The hole is painted and the back of the fender is coated. You would need bare metal to start rusting.

I've been on other car forums and this one is my favorite. There don't seem to be as many 'chauvinistic jackasses' here, which is incredibly refreshing. 'Somewhat depressing when respect becomes somewhat of an interpersonal treat, served once every harvest moon.

In all fairness, i hadn't considered rust. That's my bad.

Step 3: Purchase can of touch-up paint in your color

Step 4: paint said christmas tree fasteners

Step 5: install

Step 6: Harden the f*** up!

LOL!

I never noticed the holes... Canadian cars come standard with mudflaps. The ones in the rear won't rust... urethane. I'm not sure about the front. Your best bet is to wait for a bit and see if you can find a less expensive source than the dealer for the mudflaps. It does look a little unfinished with just the holes there, but it may end up looking worse if you try to modify something else to cover them up.

Mind sharing more pics, side view and quarter view pics? I might use it this winter.

They would look ok on a truck but not sure about on a sports car that's been given a slippery shape for performance and fuel economy.

They are not for everyone I will admit that. It is a subaru though and to me that means it's going to see and has seen some off road. I plan on some rallyx this winter and maybe some ice racing.

1. Bollocks! I've just spent nigh on thirty fecking grand and they won't sort out a trivial cosmetic oversight.
2. They're little more than pennies each FFS, for example: eBay.
3. Use more of those used in the top holes.

Seems to be common omission on all UK spec cars.
Seriously, you're complaining about that? You are the same guy that would complain if you had to drill holes to install mudflaps... Plastic doesn't rust and water/crud would get back there whether there was a hole there or not.

And you said it already - its trivial. There is nothing to sort out - it is how the car was designed and sold to you (and you signed on the dotted line and paid for it that way).

-Charlie

PS. That fastener at the top helps hold the bumper trim on. It isn't a cosmetic part.
