I meant that BMW E36's had a lot of different engine options straight from the factory (1.6l I4, 1.8l I4, 1.9l I4, 2.0l I6, 2.5l I6, 2.8l I6, 3.0L I6, 3.2l I6). Honestly, the cheapest, most reliable, and one of the most powerful options would be the 2JZ.

Yea thats true. But power is not the only thing Im looking for. Im going to be looking to minimize heat soak and space to work on the engine, as well as better weight distribution and less overall weight.

Haha...can a B18C even be made to work in a longitudinal position? A 2J would be epic, and I know it's been done. Can anyone link photos/videos/threads of a 2J swap here? This would be epic on all levels! It'd be tough as hell to make work though... A potent dime-a-dozen motor, but not much imagination. With enough time, money, and know how, it can be done (but I doubt it ever will). |

Hartley V8? But you have it bass-ackwards. The Suburu new engine looks to be a legandary addition - I'd rather think about what cars this new engine would make better.

![]() I never said anything negative about the Subaru engine. I know it's capable of incredible things, but this thread was started to simply get the creative juices flowing. |
