You respond with: "Nope that wouldn't be weird at all and if you want some practice I would be glad to help."

Glad to hear you found the culprit. At least it was a worthy car to mate with your beautiful FR-S.

I do the same. Even if a parking lot is open, I always part near a concrete curb or patch of grass. Reduces the chances of *this thread* happening by 50%.

OP, good luck with the follow up!

I've had very good luck so far at my college in Saratoga, California (knocking on wood right now!!). Maybe because it is a pretty rich area and/or people actually respect other people's property. I did, however, have bad luck in my high school's parking lot before I had my FR-S. Luckily, my Corolla wasn't brand new when incidents happened.

What made me mad was there were plenty of parking spots, because it was sunday. I have really long doors so its even more difficult for me to get in when people park like that. Half the lot was empty, why?
I know exactly what you mean! Pisses me off and it seems to happen too often. Don't know what compel's people to do it. 2 door coupes are hard to squeeze in and out of when nobody gives you the room. It looks particularly funny when I try to do it because I am 6'3". You just gotta "worm" in there. lol.

Here's a photo of 2 dummies who decided to park next to me (350z) and my buddy (RX-7) a while back when I had the Z. We parked in the pack of the restaurant and it was totally empty in the front and rear. No idea why the picked us. At least they gave us some space, but still, there's no need to park next to us when we were clearly trying to avoid cramming up. Reverse psychology I guess.

Yup! It's sucks to find scratches from your car from parking lot.

I skipped the majority of this thread, but I really wanted to share this little tip (superstition really).

When ever you've got a vehicle that's new or freshly restored / painted - whatever the case... find a spot on the car nobody will ever see and scratch the shit out of it.

It sounds weird, but any car I've ever done this with hasn't had an issue with bumps or scratches! I think it appeases the car gods to make such a sacrifice.
