How do I know ? I also own a GT86, and have been the parts manager at this dealership for 30 years with a good friend in the powertrain division at TMS Calif.
Good news to hear an official confirmation of this problem and pending solution. Thanks for clearing the air.

You have to wonder at the dealers who announced it to be quite normal. Also those forum members who ridiculed others for their logical conclusions that it was a fault and should be fixed.

Just goes to show that even with technology making our blue planet a little smaller not everyone is on the same page. This is this first Toyota I've owned and I've lost count on Subaru's now but leave it to Toyota to step up to the plate and take the bean ball for the resolution.

I wonder if I'll have a new HPFP before I have a new ECU.

I'm glad to hear this in any case, as it's one less battle I need to fight. I just continue to be bitter that I can't drive my god damn car.

Are you listening, Subaru? Still waiting to hear what your plan is to expedite that ECU out of Japan.

For the life of me I can't remember where I got gas the last time but my chirping seems to have gone away... I think it might have been a Shell station as opposed to the BP I normally go to.

Now I see, or hear, what everyone is talking about. I hear crickets. I've tried BP 93 and Exxon 93. I guess next will be Shell 93.

So in Canada all Shell V-Power is ethanol free right? Would the US V-Power have lower amounts of ethanol than the average premium gas?

On a scale of 1-10 what you have is a .1 to the cricket sound 10 in the video just above yours. I heard no similarity at all, totally different sound. Yours wouldn't bother me one bit.

I think it depends on region. Some areas have reported no ethanol, some have ethanol in all grades and brands. Either way, it should say at the pump if the fuel contains ethanol or not.

I took mine to the dealer yesterday and they said there is no TSB yet mine is getting loud! I will see if I can get a video later on. My crickets can be heard through walls
