Mine came with the foam backing separate... so you could apply to either lid.

Now that you mention this, if I were to switch to the silver lid, I won't have any insulation on that lid.

I still have no bogging issues, Ive been meaning make a video if my tests just so you can see first hand how im testing it but yea, 1st gear roll @ 1000RPM its a smooth climb, given theres no torque in that range but it does not bog in anyway, reacts just how it should, I still really wonder what it is, I know 2forme was solved with a tune but how come not all of us have the issue. Was it the bottom-right screw by chance? That one backed out on me but all the other ones are in there strong.

I had minor issues the first day I drove mine, then those went away. However, I noticed earlier this week that I have a hard fuel cut [assumed] at WOT.

So... now the diagnosing begins.

Did you locate a cable so you could try and data log your STOCK TUNE?

Also had one of the screws back out on mine. I reinstalled them with slightly larger washers. They don't seem to be backing off this time, but it took a month or so last time so time will tell.

For reference I'm using the black lid. Foam was applied at the time of install as the foam does not come pre-applied to one of the lids (which makes sense if you included the second lid as a customer choice for which they would like to use)

I had a couple screws back out. There was nothing wrong with the screws, seemed like a mistake during install on my part. My thoughts were it has to do with the foam seal being compressed/heated during use and/or sun. I figured it got softer and or more compressed when the other screws went in so there was less pressure against the plate. Which would have made it more susceptible to vibration. Either way, i went to home depot and spent $3 on some new screws and washers and havent had a problem since. Plus the stainless replacements match the aluminum much better anyways .

Edit Add: I don't think these issues are in any way bad for Airaid. I mean it's not like the parts are faulty, a bit of loctite, or more careful installation would have prevented the issues. It really says a lot when the company is so behind their product that they'll rush out parts to customers no questions asked.

All I can think is maybe the black coating changed something? We usually use plain stainless steel hardware, but we made the lid and hardware black at the forum's request.

Either way, please understand that this can happen when you lead with the first product of any kind. We went above and beyond on R&D, but we still can't match the thousands of miles on hundreds of vehicles that you guys will put our product through. I hope the community can see our commitment to stand behind the product and make everything right.

A step has been added to the instructions about using thread locker, and that should be all that is needed.

The issue I found was the foam seal, this broke and compressed around the screw holes and caused the lid to loosen up with the excess space. I'm assuming the engine heat and thin area around the screw hole is what made the foam deteriorate. I just finished a 1500 mile road trip and they are still good to go now after the re-tightening.
