There is a video of a relatively mild BRZ chasing an S2000 on track and it keeps up. It would likely be pretty close in STR. But i say put in STX and see how things end up. If it stomps there then move it.

It's very difficult to move an overdog out of a class. All the people who flocked to that car will be upset. By contrast, if the STAC puts in STR and it's not competitive, they won't upset many people moving it to STX.

That doesn't tell the whole story. I was able to keep up with a Viper ACR at NJMP, but obviously doesn't mean my humble track s2k is faster. There can be numerous reasons why. You know what I'm sayin'.

IMO, after the Civic got banned from STX, someone decided the RX8 was the STX easy button, so everyone went that route without much regard for all the unexplored potential in that class.
Just wanted to reiterate a couple of these points post-Nats, especially the ITR point. The lone ITR finished 3rd behind the two aliens in STX, and it was far from full prep and also on Hankooks on what I believe were 7" or 7.5" wheels.

Also, the fastest RX8 was 5th and still beaten by the BMWs and ITR, when the RX8 should have had an advantage on the sweeper-heavy West course.

I'm still struggling to see where the FRS/BRZ becomes the overdog as some people are speculating. Considering all the similarities to an RX8, I still think its going to fit well in STX without the need to dump it in STR first.

Well I suspect we'll have our answer in October. Hearing more and more STR speculation, hoping for STX though I have no dog in fight unless they screw up RT* classes.

I'm shocked. I'll wait at least 13 months before I start my build just to be safe.
