Yeah, its extremely easy to get your carry permit here in Georgia.

A gun isn't going to do anything for you at all if you're like me and you're standing around looking at tools in Sears, while your wife and child are off looking at something else (probably horribly boring, which is why I'm looking at tools ) and your car is parked on the other side of the mall lot, which would at least take several minutes to get to. Or in the OP's case, where you're watching a movie and are out of the picture for an hour and a half, maybe more. Typical smash n grabs take less than a minute. Maybe a little more if they decide to yank your stereo. By the time you get there the thief will be long gone. Combine that with the fact that a lot of the delinquents I know also carry, and you're looking at getting into a shootout over what, an empty glove box?

I'm not saying don't carry. I'm just saying that this is a bad excuse to do so.

OP, sucks to hear. Sounds like it wasn't targeted vandalism and was just a smash n grab job, hence the other car being hit too. Hope it gets fixed soon.
It has worked so far for me. I open carry to help deter crime. Personally I think everyone who legally can carry should. It would help cut down crime rates.

Actually, it wouldn't. But you would find the rates of accidental shootings going up!

Actually it would. Look at Chicago and Washington D.C., when the gun bans there were lifted the crime rate in both cities plummeted. More guns = Less crime.

Now back to the actual topic at hand.

I had something happen to mine too. I have a small dent on the edge of the roof right above the driver window. It totally looks like someone slammed it with their fist. I've been driving hubbys 4x4 a lot more often since I got this car.

Thank you !! I hope so too ! and I hope that the company fixing it, doesn't screw anything up further That is probably what I'm most worried about, ugh.

And sorry to hear about your damage as well .

On an off topic side note : I love the wheels you are rocking ! I'm looking at a similiar set for my FRS

I've been eyeing a bolt down pistol safe for the car. It opens quickly, it's secure, has a slim profile and a good place to stash things. Cheap too. They run about $45.

Mine was as clean as it could possibly be, not a single extra item in the vehicle. Nothing but insurance paperwork and the huge Scion binder in the glove compartment. Either way, this car as we all know, is going to attract both good and bad attention as Mact stated, unfortunately.

Thank you, and no definitely not targeted - just a smash n grab. Unfortunate either way, lol. I would have been a lot more worried if it was just my car, that is for sure !

This is why I leave my car unlocked and never leave anything of value in the car. I would rather you go through my car, find nothing and leave, than smash my windows then find nothing and leave.

Oh and who cares if the car is stolen, that is why you have full coverage insurance.

Sorry to hear! With all of the attention these cars are getting, owners need to be a lot more careful where they drive and especially where they now park.

Just throwing it out there, if anyone good with wiring/electric components knows, will the fact that I have no window in the driver side effect the passenger side ? I can't roll down the passenger side from the driver side switches and I'm worried that something else besides just the glass was damaged (it was literally pouring rain out when this happened, and I don't know how long the car sat outside like that before I came out after the movie )

Again, I have not the slightest idea with that type of stuff, still learning ! All the locks still work perfectly fine for both doors. I'm not sure how closesly linked together the door functions and windows are. I am hoping when they put the new window in the functions for window up/down work perfectly again for both windows ... ugh. Any insight from you smart guys out there would be awesome !!

I'm more worried about being hit in the parking lot, the random egging or door dings. I always back into the spot, so the cam would catch most of it.
