Didn't they also make the Celica transmission? That thing is a piece of shit. No one likes the 7th gen Celica transmission.

subaru's gunma plant has been tabbed for production since the beginning, people that have been following this since the beginning should know these sorts of things.

and again from SOA's PR machine, which, before you ask, is indeed a credible source that indeed works for SOA.

Are you sure? When the revise the chassis of a specific car, the chassis is all-new. Look at 350z and 370z for reference.

Yeah and the 1st and 2nd gen mr2 transmissions that love to blow. All-tracs Celicas too. All these transmission had issues and never liked to hold power.

Its been stated since VERY early in this car's life span that the chassis is all new from the ground up, designed for this RWD application specifically.

This car is based on a Legacy chassis from what I was told. Which also going to be used in the future for Lexus IS platform.

Yeah. I went to their website and see Toyota use some of their trannies.
And Sorry it's called Aisin. I have bad memory.

Source? Toyota said that it will be all-new. I don't know how they define "all-new", but it won't be something like Legacy.

Heh, all this hatin' on Aisin...well deserved from some applications I suppose.

My experience is different. Aisin built the extremely reliable and tough R154 Turbo 5-speed transmission for the Supra Turbo, as well as its little brother the W58. While the W58 couldn't hold nearly the same power (like, anywhere close), it was never designed to. It also built the 4-speed auto version for both the 3rd gen Supra N/A and 3rd Gen turbo. I have experience with both, and both were not only reliable for those day and age auto transmissions, but they were both still some of the smoothest and fastest shifting Torque Converter auto transmissions I've ever used.

Frankly I'm not worried.
