I have Cusco, it's just hollow can. I have it for for a while and don't see any trace of the oil yet. Will see after the track day.

For the turbo guys, definitely Crawford. No reason to look elsewhere imho.

Correct the Cusco is hollow. The Mishimoto is baffled.

Catch cans are a pretty universal item though.

as someone said, if crawford makes one, that's the one to get...otherwise MOROSO is next in line for making a unit that actually WORKS.

the grimmspeed does nothing.

Yup

It's also designed for the BRZ/FRS

Basically it keeps oil from going into your intake and keeps it routed to the block. If you plan on doing auto-x or road course racing it is a good thing to get.

This one is universal but I would check to see if it's compatible anyways as I am just learning about car mechanics.

yea the universal should work. it's pretty simple since it's an NA motor.

In regard to how large the reservoir ought to be, how much oil are you users collecting with your driving habits?

Radium has been making some nice cans: https://radiumauto.com/index.php?p=p...id=28&parent=5

On the turbocharged Subaru motors there was a lot of "blow-by", with a lot of oil being fed back into the breather line. Which feeds into the inlet pipe, and thus got routed back into the piston area. I've taken top mounts intercoolers off of 2 year old cars and literally poured the oil out of it.

Now, other than it looking nasty, it also increased detonation on those motors. Presumably that could be an issue with these 12:1 compression motors, but nobody has the mileage to determine how much.

I've got a couple of different breather catch tanks we make (different brackets for different models) so I'll probably fit one up. There is not many (if any) FR-S/BRZ specific catch tanks at this point, probably just adapted ones from the Turbo Subaru or Evo models. The typical older gen Subaru has two breather lines that T into one to the inlet - the FRisBee twins just have a single line from pcv straight to inlet. So one of the inlet ports will need to be blocked off.
