There was some speculation that the subie would be likr 40k and have an STI engine but I doubt those rumors will be true. The subie and Scion will probably both be very similar, with no turbos.

You know all these pics and no videos!? Someone has to have a vid of this run if people were able to snap shots on it.

I can totally see this car getting a 265hp wrx powerplant, but not the 305hp sti unit.

EDIT: I noticed twin tiny lines from the Toyota emblem too.
Kind of silly to argue as they ARE the same platform/car.

The point being that there CAN be a pretty significant appearance difference on cars of the same platform.

It could be the Pleiads too, aka Subaru.

305hp would be nice! Not going to happen, but this car should have at least 148hp, since that's what the new generation of 2.0L boxers should have at the minimum.

I dont think the ES and the Camry is a GOOD example of shared Sheet metal parts..

Yup. They use the same plate form, but the sheet metal can be different. As long as the bolt in points are still the same, they still can be share same plateform with slightly different sheet metal. I could be wrong tho.

BUT... big difference between shared PLATFORM and shared Sheet METAL body.

Toyota PRADO and Toyota FJ Cruiser has same PLATFORM..

Scion FR-S and Subaru Impreza has same platform...

Different Sheet metal bodies.

But platform and sheet metal body (the T-cell cabin portion) is different.

The ES and Camry has same platform (or Chassis in engineering term) but different Sheet Metal Body (main body).

Hey now, don't forget we get thousands of visitors to this forum and only a few became active members. Heck, I was flammed when I was new too. It's no wonder that people visit but never comment. Most of the people posting are asking the same questions without searching and making requests to Toyota for such and such. But we do get some decent new members once in awhile.

Plus the Corvette is a proper sports car with credentials, racing history, and a good reputation. It actually gets "good" FE too. Although it is pretty expensive and doesn't have a "nice" interior. The Corvette is iconic and one of the very few sports cars that are still successful after being introduced in the 60's. Plus if you compare it to the average v8 musclecar or even the modest Mustang it's a light car despite the v8!

Isn't the Aurion a suped up Camry? They are the same car, to the best of my understanding, so they're not really sharing platforms with one another since they're the same.

And the Subaru and Toyota versions of the FT86 will share the same platform.

My whole point is that the Subaru can actually end up looking quite different. Probably more so than an ES and a Camry.
