Glad to hear that your situation worked out well. I'd be keeping a very close eye on where the dent was, just in case the dent removal damaged it in any way. I would have requested a new body panel for that section, even if the wait for it would have been a few weeks. Hell, I might have just driven the car while waiting for it.

Glad everything worked out. I had never purchase a brand new car so it maybe easy for me to say now that I would probably NOT over react to the situation as well.

iPhone 4s photo. Only thing done was I blurred the plates and the inspection sticker on the car. I didn't need to manipulate the color because it is so damn incredible on its own. I have more photos I'll post later today. When it's cloudy the color looks like interlagos blue but when the sun is out you can see the metallic flake in the paint job and it has a sheen to it. Me like'y a lot.

Update: its starting to rain outside so I guess Ill post the additional pics since I cant go driving, grrrrrrrr.

I would have thrown up if that happened to me but then I flew 1,200 miles to get my car.

I'm in my mid 40s and it is kind of hard for me to get up and out of this car since there's nothing to brace or balance yourself on.
The dealership has been great though. But, if I don't take delivery of the car, I will post the name of the dealership so no one on this forum buys that BRZ without knowing this history. At least they can inspect the car and make their decision with the full history. I would assume the dealership would have to tell the potential buyer since there is a VA law that states any repairs over (I think it's $600 or $700) on an new untitled car, the repair history has to be presented to the buyer before they take ownership on the vehicle. If they don't inform the customer and down the road something comes up that reveals this repair was done prior to purchase, then the buyer can sue the dealership. There is a cap on the amount you can sue for though. Sadly I know about this because I once had to go through this a long time ago... The laws may have changed since then so who knows.

If my info is not correct please respond with the correct info on the current law.
sorry to hear of your troubles,BUT i would not accept this car! let 'em sell it to someone else! i would insist they pull a swap,or find another one (w.t.f!)
$27,000 or so? it's a piece of change, and they dented the shit out of it! brand new car! inexcusable! ..just sayin'

still! even though they are trying to effect a solution in good faith, they also don't want to get stuck with it!.i would have stood my ground and insisted on another car! (w.t.f!) what about your rights, especially in light of the fact you are about to shell out $27,000 or so!..my 2 cents!

Thanks for your comment, That's how I felt at first too but after seeing the repairs I contemplated long and hard on whether I wanted to buy the car. The car looked fine and I wouldn't have known where the dents were if I hadn't been told. They didn't have to do anything but pop out the dents. Sure I was po'd knowing that they had dented the car but they were up front and honest with me and they did offer to let me reorder if I wanted to and they had a possible preorder cancelation that I would have been offered first, had I passed on my original order/car. But, when everything was said and done, I didn't see any issue with buying the car. I took some photos recently of the area that was dented and you can't see anything. Also, I figured once the BRZ STI becomes available, I'll just upgrade to that. So for now I have a great car and am enjoying it more every day.

^ I think Mango22 handled the situation with a great deal of restraint. Despite the fact that this happened on a brand new car, the incident sounds quite minor and has been repaired with no lasting damage AND he has $200 he can spend on (admittedly overpriced) dealer parts.

It still sucks that it happened in the first place, but you know, shit does happen and thankfully it wasn't anything like dealership techs forgetting to fill the oil on a brand new car during pre delivery inspection.

ok! i got the full picture now! wasn't aware they offered you the option of getting another car! well it appears you did ok! and hopefully your cars area where the damage ocurred doesn't experience any metal fatigue over time!
i say this because the mil thickness of japanese steel leaves something to be
desired .know this! ..japan is an island nation, and as such.has to import all it's
iron to make sheet steel.that said, they accept any and all iron no matter the source.they will accept rusted iron, melt it down, and make new steel.it's all "recycled" steel they use and the molecular strength of this recycled steel is generally weak when compared to virgin iron, hence the possibility over time to be affected by environmental factors as well as impact factors.in other words,it's NOT the best steel period to make cars with! best of luck with your new car,and as the previous poster has stated,ya got some goodies from 'em too!.all in all, ya done good! ..just sayin'
