Yamaha Aerox Modified

Hello people! I like motorbikes since i was a kid. Now i have an Yamaha Aerox modified to 74 cubic centimetres (cc).

I wondered if in usa this scooters are popular. Here in spain at 15 age (before 14) you have the scooter licence and the car licence at 18 (in usa at 16?)

Here there are many shops to modify these bikes of this type. Exhausts, cylinder, cluth, carburator... (2t engines). I wanted to share this experience with you.

Then some photos to my scooter modified.

Engine

- Cantillana R70 exhaust.
- Malossi Multivar drive.
- Mitaka sport cluth.
- Oko 21 carburator.
- Mitaka racing Air filter.
- Airsal 70 nicasil cylinder.

*Stock scooter max speed 60 kmh (35 mph +-).

*Modified scooter max speed 125 kmh (77 mph +-). And sound difference is bestial!

Engine block unmounted.

Chassis.

Wheels.

Fork.

Engine finished.

Painted pieces.

Dude that looks like a lot of fun!

I do not think the US has a very large scooter scene. There are some niche pockets, like the guys swapping GY6 150cc engines into the Ruckus chassis, but generally speaking we don't see a lot of scooters -- and we're smack in the middle of a metropolitan area where scooters are ideal for getting around town.

A couple years ago I bought a 1984 Yamaha Riva 180 and loved it. Most of what I see (and I don't see much) is 50cc stuff.

My brother has a 200cc Vespa but I get the feeling those are more lifestyle purchases that don't get ridden very much. It's the Ferrari of scooters, as they say.

There are some states here that allow you to get a scooter license at age 14 (yes, 16 for car license). I had a Honda Spree at age 14. 50cc and I had a custom header made for it. hehe

A friend of mine in high school had a Yamaha QT that was bored out to 60cc, header, new carb. and it did like 50 mph.

Thanks! here the king of 50 motorbikes is Yamaha TZR (6 speed, "supersport"). The Yamaha QT isn't marketed here.

@jl86 is this what you mean? It looks like a sport bike!

All this talk of bikes reminds me that I need to get something (the Riva was stolen) and it needs to be another small thing that I can have fun on without going to fast or spending too much money.

Great! Take us on a ride down your favorite scenic road. I would love to see some video of the Spanish countryside.

That's pretty cool. Over in the USA, more people ride sport bike or Harley's. Only certain area like San Francisco you will find a lot of people riding scooters. I've been looking for one to go to work with. But want to find a scooter that has a little sporty look.
