Brand loyalty sounds like a positive and inherently respectful thing, but it has it's own native hostility. Personally, i find it can become a bit closed-minded and a suitable foundation for unnecessary animosity. I have a Celica, i don't cling to Toyota. I have a Safari, i don't cling to GMC. I respect people's loyalties and the quality these companies have supplied for me personally-- but the investment ends there for me.

i like that its codesigned. the look on peoples faces who are not real car people when i tell em its a subaru/Toyota is priceless.
i dont have any brand loyalty tho. even with other things. i ride a KTM dirtbike and is my fav brand right now but if a different brand came out with a better bike and i was in the market i would get it. anyhow competition between brands is great for us the consumers. it gets us better products |

I don't have brand loyalty, lol. I drive a BRZ and a 95 Civic hatchback. Wife has a tC and we share a Jag X-Type.
I'm more about loyalty to model and/or years. I love 92-00 Civics and Integras. Civics after that disappoint me, and RSX is so-so. I like G37, but not the G35, etc etc... I figure if the car is quality and has potential in a certain use, and I can't stop thinking about it, it's perfect. |

Not really... The Supra is a well known car...with a large following.
Like hyundai does with the Equus (60 grand hyundai) they might do away with toyota badging, leaving the "supra" logo if there is any problems. The Supra can also be branded as a lexus in my opinion. The last (Mk4) Supra Turbo was a GT and not a sportscar. |

The logo on your car is not the brand. The brand is how YOU feel about the product. Whether you get the Scion or the Suby, you are getting this car because of the way it makes you feel.
I have owned: Acura Honda Lexus Audi and now a Subaru. If I didn't get on a waiting list early for the Suby, I would have got the Scion, no question. Some people put a bit too much emphasis on the logo.

Toyota builds high quality cars, but I don't like Toyota USA very much.
A few years ago, I looked into buying a Lexus. I grabbed the brochure, went into a salesman's office, and was pointing out the colors, options, and equipment I wanted. He told me I couldn't have the car I was "building", and that I couldn't "order" a Toyota product. I could "request" my color preference. He told me the options listed in the brochure were allocated to various regions of the country by Toyota USA. (I was trying to get heated seats). I tried a half dozen Lexus dealers and they all sung the same tune. If I'm paying the bill, I'm picking my own options. The entire concept of "mono spec" is cost reduction and simplifying the production process. It is the opposite of trying to satisfy the customer. At least the Subaru is available in two trim levels. |

yea I love how there are so many options in Japan... over here u have to get whatever it's in the lot, unless the dealer can find one for you and trade another dealer for it. Then it's gonna be a pain to haggle at markup they place... damn them!!! |
