Tougher than you have believed

And the balloon gets bigger, where are the weak parts in this motor which in itself didn't appear to be overly strong in all the original assessments of it? Must have used more exclusivarum metal than we thought they would lol

The engine is made of Adamantium!

In all seriousness, one thing is making 400whp and another is keeping that power for a long time withouth blowing stuff.
I know the crank is nitrated so that should hold, I don't think the block would be a concern as Subaru boxer engines
have always been booosted for ever, my concern are the rods but we'll just have to wait and see.

The tranmission is basically new so we'll see how it holds.
Subaru knew this car was meant to be abused/modded so I'm sure this engine will hold a good amount.

The low torque that this engine produce is helping everything survive

Keep pushing that envelope. If I decide to build a boosted wide-body track demon in 3-4 years, I want all the bases covered.

I agree this is helping the clutch/transmission situation, but disagree about rods. They see more stress on the HP level, than just torque. Those rpms are going to test the rod strength.

I'm pretty confident the motor will handle what is being thrown at it currently for a while before having issues.

Everyone complained about the 4b11 being weaker than the 4g63, until people started pushing over 700whp from the stock block. These new motors are the real deal.

talking from past experience on high powered vw engines, they usually break rods in the low rpm like 3500 when full boost is reached all of a sudden, bu the reason is because people were revving their motors to the limit and stretched the rods... so maybe its just a question of time since these motors are still young and havent reached high mileage yet!
