Mine is getting stored for the winter. Alberta Winters are a bit harsh. Biggest concern for me is clearance.

I got my BRZ two days ago and already ordered winter tires - Dunlop M3. Now I have a dilemma: either put them on stock rims and then get new set of wheels for summer (larger/wider), or get cheap rims for winter season, and use stock rims for summer with 225 rubber.

Living in northern Nevada and northern California I will definitely not be using this car. I don't feel like getting stuck in my car on Donner Summit ever again. But if you get studded snow tires, you should be able to get around pretty well most days.

I plan on driving it in the winter, though I'm fairly nervous about it because it's my first RWD car, I drove my brother's 240sx before but never in the winter, never had an issue out of it. And pretty much the only way I'll be able to get winter tires is if I find them really cheap, and some really cheap steel wheels to put them on. I can't afford $800.00+ for wheels and tires, or I should say, I'd just rather not spend that much.

Did you forget about the blizzard in..... OCTOBER?! 1foot of snow an hour. Well, technically it wasn't even winter

In all seriousness, I had Michelin Pilot PA3s on my STi and it worked wonders. Not sure how it'll be in a RWD car, but probably going to get the same tires again (except in 17s now)

I had PA2s last "winter" and they were better to drive on a cleared road, but a little worse in the snow. Not a whole lot worse, just a baby bit.

Had the same internal debate and decided on winter rubber on stock rims come November, and wider rims and sticky rubber next April.

I plan on using mine in the winter, granted I live in Georgia so if we even do get any snow/possibility of snow the whole state shuts down.

Aside from winter tires don't forget to load your trunk with some road salt, it'll add weight to the rear and be readily available in case of emergencies! (dual purpose vs sandbags)

I think it's the same for both type of cars, you don't let the wheel spin~

I will be driving mine in the winter although I hate to drive in a lot of snow. Quebec has a rule and we must have snow tires on from December 15th until March 15th. I haven't decided which snow tires to buy but I will also be buying rims.
