I can't tell from the picture, is this internally gated? Is it dumping?
I've had my share of loud and proud turbo dump gates but the real quality IMO is recircing. Sometimes you just wanna go fast, and not clue people into you doing so. I would probably give my money to the first non-dump gated system.

The turbocharger will be internally gated, water cooled and oil cooled. We've got an advantage in that we can cast our own exhaust and compressor housings, thus don't have to get stuck with potential "off the shelf" issues.

I realized that the initial photo probably didn't show it very well, so I've edited it a bit:
![]() We have a cast "bellhousing" section that bolts to the turbocharger exhaust housing - essentially a shorty downpipe. This runs back and bolts to the stock location secondary cat. This maintains the stock exhaust profile. So any exhaust systems, stock or aftermarket, that would have bolted up to the stock exhaust manifold will be able to bolt up to our turbocharger kit. |

TBE= Turbo back exhaust.
for people who want to delete cats or use High flow cats. In the WRX you would see the most gains from changing the down pipe which basically connects to the turbo. Last edited by subatoy; 08-28-2012 at 04:35 PM. |

the kit looks amazing guys. i'm down to see the results. i like that you're following the FB20's motor setup. i saw p&l's turbo kit also, but yours seems to be a lot more logical in various ways.

is an external option possible? it seems like it would add a crapload of more "stuff" down there. i'd rather keep it internal anyway.

AVO, your solution is wisely engineered!
I hope you won't forget developing a front pipe with a sportcat for the sake of emmission BTW, choosing between leaving the stock front pipe and upgrading to a larger OD frontpipe with a sportcat - could you advise? I've never dealt with sportcats, do they really take the eye-hurting smell away? As you've deleted a primary stock cat in the exhaust manifold, the task for the secondary cat is getting even more complicated. I have to warmup my car in the crowded yard, so the noise&smell in the morning start-ups is my main concern. |

The AVO kit is the main one I want to do some research on before I put any money down on a turbo kit. Really looking forward to seeing the specs and pricing on this one.
