We have had a Matrix 4WD and a Rav4 Ltd, one from Cambridge and the other from Woodstock. No problems at all with either vehicle. In fact that is what made me switch from 5 new Acuras/ 1 new Honda consecutively over to Toyota.

My FR-S idles consistently at ~675 RPM without wavering. I switched from Petro 94 to Shell 91 after realizing the Petro stuff contains cricket juice.

I get the idle drop too sometimes, but only when running the AC. Otherwise it's pretty solid. This is on shell 91.

Scared the crap out of me, with less than 80km on the car lol.


Sitting at the lights and it starts to idle roughly. The only feeling I could compare it too is sitting in a car with bad plugs, or a dying battery.
Revs dip, engine light came on, and the car just shudder and dies.

After restarting, it starts running fine.
My friend suggested I take it to the nearest dealership just to open a file, and at the very least log the issue.

Car is currently @ roughly 4500km, and the same issue happened.
Rough idle and heavy vibration coming form the shifter, and car feels like its about to stall out (but doesn't).

CEL and TC lights come on.

Brought it to Yorkdale Toyota Scion for a 3hr check up.
According to the techs there, they say that the car seems to be running, but it isn't producing the proper power upon acceleration.

They have contacted Toyota to see what the procedures are to properly diagnose the problem. Just need to find time to get the car back there for another inspection.



CEL and TC lights are still on, and TC and VSC buttons are inactive.

Will post updates when I get them.
