Got a few (<- keyword) newish details from a Toyo Dealer

Talked to a guy from a Toyota Dealer today and got little little information from him. The two biggest things he said is that it got pushed back even further into 2012 (ie 2013 model debut) and he said the weight would be in the low 2000s. Confirmed 200hp, direct port injection, mid-high 20s in price. He hasn't heard anything official about the LSD but he said he's heard that it will have one.

Take it for what you will.

Interesting. Even more interesting assuming you talked to a Detroit area dealer, which would have no tie whatsoever with Toyota corporate. Considering dealerships are rarely divulged key information by OEM's, he likely read a press release on an auto news site and ran with it. I'll take this info with very large grains of salt.

Absolutely. He did say he got the info from his dealer's Toyota rep though.

He called the car a Scion FR-S. I'd say it's pretty much certain it will be a Scion unless the brand folds in the next year.

Interesting since it seems even Toyota doesn't know for sure what the specs will be. We don't really know any thing today that wasn't talked about several months back about specs. Once I see some official release then I will get excited. Don't want to get my hopes up. Well a late 2012 release wouldn't be too bad. We have waited this long. What is another year.

Low 2000 lbs. would be awesome. If it had 200hp, then it would be worth the $25,000K+.

I really don't think they're getting any lower than 2500 pounds with the dimensions, safety standards, and price point they're pursuing. But hey, more power to them.

A MX-5 weighs ~2500. I would be amazed if Toyota could get it any lower than that for a 2+2.
