No offense guys but I used to work for one of the most renowned retrofitters in the U.S. so I am familiar with PnP kits as compared to OEM projectors and replicas and dare say I have more experience with retrofits than you all. The Morimoto's are pretty damn good projectors on their own, and people have installed them on this and other forums with very good results. They do, when you are talking about the $3300 more Limited, which personally I have no interest in. |

Sorry about continuing the FR-S vs BRZ trend. I think it is very nice to have a factory Nav unit that is always ready with your location when you need it. But, I don't think the BRZ Nav with its quirky user interface is worth $1000.

I have the limited, but I think the DRL, HID and toggle switches are standard on all BRZ. In recent days I have found the heated side mirrors to be fkn amazing. I love push start and the keyless entry. My wife has a key and I never have to unlock the door for her(I still open the door for her on dates :P) The trunk opener from the proximity of the key is also very nice. The leather to me isn't all its cracked up to be. Dual-zone is nice. Fog lights I don't care about.

IMHO, the Nav unit is no better than an aftermarket unit -- In fact, the way it functions, it might as well be aftermarket. Others have mentioned its unintuitive settings screens. What I would add to that is that none of the car's functions are integrated into the NAV unit -- at least that I have found so far. My other experience with an OEM Nav unit was on my Z. On that unit, all the computer functions including gas mileage history, maintenance reminders, HVAC displays, etc. are integrated into the NAV unit's display. I get none of that with the BRZ unit. It is simply a NAV + radio with no other native car functions accessible through the unit.

Depends on whether Subaru/Toyota gives you free updates to the NAV system? And firmware updates.. that could make it worth the $$, seeing as how aftermarket units support for for free map udates are really lacking.

BRZ nav is not as simple to operate as my $200 Garmin.
Voice commands work well, much, much better than Corvette. Honda nav (I've had 2) is easier to operate. |

Once you get the address in it works really well. But getting it in can be a pain.

Worked out to $50/month for me, so it was a no brainer when you look at the quality of the interior. When you consider the resale value will be better for the limited it is basically a wash. The nav isn't great but who cares, it's better than not having nav and it's essentially free.

You can set it to automatically unlock both doors when you put your hand on either handle. There are instructions posted here somewhere. I think it was just to open the door and press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the fob at the same time for five seconds, until it beeps. Then it won't matter if she has the key with her.

Unfortunately the Premium and FRS share the same climate controls. They're ugly for sure, but oh well. I've broken down in other threads why I didn't want the limited untill I was blue in the face so I'll refrain here, suffice to say for me it just isn't worth the money and a few of the items I didn't even want.
