The more and more I drive, the more this is just bugging me. I hope SRT will address the drone. If not, I may be going back to stock and selling my system.

If not, Ill end up replacing the resonator thats in it with something larger. I love the design and the sound of the exhaust aside from the drone.
Is it the cat that makes the drone or is it something else like the mufflers?

All design parameters come into play. Bends, angles, pipe runs Cat material, muffler size and material, resonators, etc.

The MOST important factor for me when selecting an exhaust was the drone. I went through this already on a previous car and hated it so much, especially when my commute is 50 miles round trip. I decided on the Nameless offset muffler design.

I was thinking about putting in a Hushpower resonator in mine to see what that does to quiet it down. The exhaust over all is a tad louder than my 502 big block pickup running downpipes off the headers was at. I guess because this car resonates sound through the car so much more; it is the same sound outside as it is inside.

Hi Everyone,
Ok, so we have some mixed reports on the drone with the exhaust system.

I am not 100% sure why some people are reporting drone while others say that they have no drone. Our test car had no drone as well, as you saw in the videos. I will be the first to tell you that I cannot stand any exhaust systems that have even the slightest drone inside the cabin, perhaps it is my old age, or perhaps I simply like to have the ability to relax and drive while having a conversation with someone inside the car or over the phone. We went through 7 different muffler/resonator combinations over a 3 week period and selected this combo because in our test car it caused no drone and the tone was not obnoxious or too loud (I will tell you this it is a little loud only during cold starts for the first 30-45 seconds then it goes almost silent at idle, that is due to how the factory does the overlapping of the valves during cold starts for quicker warmups).

The center resonator we used is densely packed round resonator with the following dimensions: 4" diameter, 12" long actual body length, 17.5" overall length. We had a couple of people asking for a louder system and got the smaller center resonator with it being 4" round and 6" actual body length and 11.5" overall length. Ironically they have not complained about it being too loud or droning.

We may have another option. We have a 5" diameter, 12" long body length, 17.5" overall length resonator that we may be able to switch the center resonator out with. I said "may" because we have to make sure that there is adequate clearances for the bigger diameter. If we can fit that resonator in there I can pretty much guarantee that there will be absolutely no drone in the car for even the discriminating individuals. We did tests on another platform and the reduction in lower/cruising rpm drone between the two resonators was night and day.

Let me know what all of you think and we can make this happen and tone it further down for those of you that are getting "old" like myself, lol.

Sir, you are comparing an axleback muffler replacement to a full headerback exhaust system, TWO completely different systems, you cannot make that comparison.

Also note that this is our sponsored thread unless you can give us some sort of substantial input regarding our system I would suggest not saying anything at all.

Thanks for your input. Do you know which one I'm getting. I bought it off Howard.

Ok we are done with revision of our front midpipe for automatic cars, HOWEVER, I would like to test this on an automatic car before we ship them out. Is there anyone in the Washington DC metro area that has an auto car willing to let us test this on their car??? Please contact us ASAP. Thanks.

ALL the exhaust systems are being shipped with the standard sized one the 4"x12" body unless someone specifically wanted the smaller resonator. As of right now all those that chose the smaller resonator has already shipped.

If anyone has not got the confirmation email with shipping for your exhausts as of yet and are concerned with it being too loud and want to wait for us to test the bigger resonator for fitment, PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL US RIGHT NOW, Thanks.

Sorry SRT, but I am not using the thread to compare systems, I just stated my choice and why I chose so.

Now that you say they are two different systems let me tell you they are very similar. Nameless includes replacing the overpipe/downpipe + axleback, so the only thing different from yours is Nameless does not replace the midpipe.

I don't understand why did you get worked up for my post. I am answering to another member what comes into play regarding drone and what I said is true. Aside from that I can offer my opinions and choice, nothing wrong with that.

If the drone reduction turns out to be night and day (and the 5" will fit) can I come by the shop to get it swapped in? This wouldn't be until the end of the year when I move to Maryland.
That will give me time to determine if I can live with it.

I will say again that the overall sound is amazing. I was just outside showing it off to a coworker and had him start up the car and rev it. I don't believe the sound from outside the car can get any better. Literally music to my ears!

I will go with the larger resonator, hopefully it cuts out all of my worries (as well as the drone) Thanks! Appreciate the quick solutions here and hard work you and everyone else at SRT is putting in.

Would there be a new timeline estimate for those who are switching over to a larger resonator?

Mo, thanks for offering the new resonator option.

Do you have an estimate on how long test fitment will take for the 6MT version? My exhaust hasn't shipped yet but I may just want it as-is depending on the delay.
