I think it's time to post a thread to all vendors making it clear what we want before they post a product.

+1 these forums are for the consumer/enthusiast, not for the merchant.

In theory, you add +20hp it's going to translate loosely to ~+15.5whp with drivetrain loss. There is some loss, but it should be linear on an NA car. So what you are actually saying is that it's 20whp so then it's more like ~26hp gains. I'd be skeptical of that for sure.

I would also argue like everyone else. You need to provide stock + exhaust and tune + exhaust dynographs to be concise with your claim.

Its an average of 20% loss on m/t and a little more on autos. I have sent an email to Tanabe for their dyno graphs. However, you can tune a stock car to make 10 whp more pretty easy. So to say a less restrictive exhaust with proper tuning can't make 20 is very reasonable. Forced induction still constitutes the same drive train loss but can be made up easier. I have sent the request foe dyno sheets to Tanabe.

This thread is to help people learn about the new Tanabe products. Would love to hear more from users that have used it. Not only on this car but in the past.

There is no way the cat-back alone is going to get you 20hp, its doubtful that even a catback and a tune will net you this much horsepower.

Maybe, an entire header, front-pipe with no cat, catback and tune might get this.

But 60mm is not really that inducive any signifigant gain.

Lets keep this on topic and talk about experienc with tanabe products.
Personally, I have only run their strut and sway bars in the past and I loved them. Priced right, look nice, and perform well. I have had friends with their exhausts and they always have sounded nice to me and looked like quality, but I can't coment on if they made power. I would run their exhaust in a heartbeat if the price was right.

Tanabe only had the burnt tips on the R&D Version, They said that the production model will have stainless tips which look better IMHO. Catback gains on an N/A cars are typically be in the 5-9 range at the top end.

here's teh pic they had on the website.

In terms of looks .. I'm not sold at all. It's clean I guess .. but ... boring maybe?

I'm more excited for the MXP system or if ExoticSpeed does something

If there's no burnt exhaust tips I'm sold on the look. I like the boring look. No way will I believe those HP claims, that's utterly ridiculous.

Regardless, if the price was compatible with me I'd be interested in doing a thorough write up. I enjoy writing anyways.
