I'm at an FR-S / BRZ meet. I tested three BRZs and one FRS. All four were stock. All four did not have the problem. It progresses through 2000rpm smoothly.

So my stock intake is back in and my problem with getting going from a stop is gone. Everything is fine. This is stock tune (never was tuned) running 93 octane with 10% ethanol. My car is a manual and I was using the dry airaid intake system but I never removed the snorkel.

Now what? I love the sound the intake makes and I love the look of it. I'm not asking for my money back, I want a solution so I can keep this great thing!

We are having a meet in my area tomorrow and I'm going to have someone else with am manual FRS/BRZ test out my car after I swap the airaid back in.

And regarding the BOG ISSUE -> it is NOT just AIRAIDs intake. I had the same problem with Don's as well as my CAI V2, about 5% or less of the time. I have yet to experience it with the AIRAID system.

Regarding the sound. I posted somewhere else that my system was like an electric guitar, raw and mean sounding. And that the AIRAID is also like a guitar, both providing about equal performance from what I can tell, but a sound that takes me getting used to. I definitely can tell the difference of using aluminum and metals versus thick plastic. The thick plastic definitely changes the sound of the intake as well as the various diameters and flow of the air. Bottom line, the intake IMO sounds like a deep tone'd kazoo or a vacuum. It's not bad at all, just different from what I'm used to. I'm down 50% in sound from my system, and getting used to the AIRAID.

So far I am very happy. I don't feel it is better than the one I created regarding sound, performance is debatable, but the engineering and look is top notch and extremely outstanding as well as SOLID.

Thanks again and I hope I have no issues!

Did more testing today. Problem goes away when I removed my injen intake and reinstalled the stock intake, including the snorkel. Let's move the discussion about problems here:

I got my intake on Wednesday of this week. Was going to wait to the weekend to install it but my brother said "Why wait!? Let's install it on and drive around!" So proceeded to install. The installation instrucions weren't the best but anyone with common sense can figure it out quite easily. Installation was a breeze till I got to the Barb Elbow and the hold in the intake tube was too small! I had to reinstall the stock components.

What I did notice when I disconnected the battery was all my data that I recorded on the GPS while driving up in the hills were deleted! I guess I'll just have to record it all over again. :/

So I called Airaid/Ajusa and spoke to Shannon. She was great! She told me that it wasn't the barb elbow that was the problem but the intake tubing hold was too small. She sent me the new tube plus a shirt and hat by Friday.

So back to the installation... Since I was familiar with everything, it went fast! My only pet peev is the MAF wire being so close to the belt. I love how the intake is nice and secure after fastening all the clamps. I tried pushing the intake down and yanked it around but it stayed in one place. I kept the sound tube and snorkel.

Driving impressions...

The car sounds great first of all! Especially in the higher RPMs. Car feels smoother thru the power band.

We drove 5 or 6 exits down the free way going 2nd to 3rd max shifting and also going from 3rd to end of 4th with AC on and off and car responded smoothly.

On the street, we tested the pull with pedal all the way down from 1500-2500, 2500-3500, 3500-4500, and 4500-5500 in each gear. We didnt experience any bog but probably would break our necks at one point or another. =)

Overall, I am very happy with the customer service that they have provided to me. Initial impressions of their product is good so far. Install was very easy. I will be driving to LA tonight so we will see how it performs over time.

I also have the Perrin Catback exhaust system installed with resonator atm. Can't wait to have the OP and FP installed!

Thanks everyone!

I hope those who are having issues can get it fixed soon so they can enjoy their car.

Try a WOT pull from 700 or 800rpm, 5mph, and see what happens. I noticed you voted no in my thread, but the bog doesn't really happen repeatably, if at all, under the conditions you described.

WOT from a stop to 65 turning out of the neighborhood was our first test. Then at the next green light, we rolled off and WOT to 65 again with no problems. We had 3 people in the car. I will do more testing tonight with 2 people and see if the car has any issues.

WOT from stop doesn't do it. I assume you revved and then slipped or dropped the clutch from a stop. Do it the way I did it - roll in first at 5mph, let car settle at 5mph ish, then punch it. Thanks for your help. If you're really problem free, then awesome! I'm just trying to figure out what factors are causing the problem.

Got my Airaid intake and Perrin crank pulley installed today! I love them both! I was really surprised by the overall results. Awesome growl and woosh sound and more top end power! Since I installed the pulley at the same time I cant feel the benefit of each individually but the car revs more freely and throttle response is much better. Very happy with both products and the customer service from Airaid is top notch!

No issues at all after 30 miles. I removed the snorkel and disconnected the battery to reset the ecu.

Not counting launching the car, I always just release the clutch to where I feel it engage then I apply gas to move the car.

No worries with the feedback. I want everyone to enjoy the car as much as I do. Have you tried disconnecting the battery?

I followed the instructions in the manual minus removing the snorkel and sound tube.

Silly question.. Where is the proof of purchase lol. I need to get this rebate sent in but I can't find the actually proof? I'll have my intake installed either tomorrow or after I break it in... I can't decide yet. I live the way it looks though. Glad I bought it when I did.

Just print out your email confirmation from AJUSA. Proof of purchase is a receipt, and since we ordered it online, that email serves as the receipt.

Is everyone getting dry filters due to the close proximity to the MAF? I'm leaning this direction as MAF issues can be a pita.
