Not inane... I say just drive comfortable. I've never had any issues with my clutch and I'll do 2nd gear starts every now and then. Can't say all the time... But I'd rather be driving around comfortable drivers!

ahhhh... pardon me but you did not say 2nd gear. You said "Then pick a gear" implying that that any gear could be selected.
I guess what you meant was "then decide between 1st or 2nd". |
