No, it's not hard to figure out. There's been what, three prototypes so far and one of the things that seems to have stayed the same is the roof line and it looks to me that the rear seat passengers (if any) aren't going to have much head room. I think if that was going to be modified it would have happened already.

^ Well we will have to see. If it is like Mk1, I think there will be enough room for the average height person 5'9''-5'11''. It is hard to tell from the angle of the interior pics I have seen.

That's not what this car is about. Look at the dimensions. If they try to please everyone and make the back seats "functional" they will have to make the car bigger, and that means more weight and poor performance.

Get over it already. After all, how often are you going to be in your own back seat? I don't know why you are fighting for this so much.

Well I'm just happy they are there. If they can figure out some engineering magic carving up more interior space with stronger lighter materials or something perhaps its possible they can make the rear seats more roomy.

But I would say rear seats are not a priority rather a nice bonus. Powerwise imo, of a car in this weight class and exterior styling I'm hoping for between 200-240hp but realistically sub-200hp....

Even the S2000 had 240hp...

Yeah I'm not expecting much from such a small two door coupe. I can fit small people in my civic which means I can fit small people in my ft-86. What more could I ask for besides true to their word ~200hp, Light weight and sexy.

Not picking on anyone, but get real with all your "functional" back seat bullshit. Not likely without changing everything good about the car, which is a sacrifice I'm not willing to make.

Those of you that want room back there, have you ever owned a 2 door 4 seat coupe? Those back seats are for last resorts only. Theyre a hassle to use, especially when your friends dont know how to get back there, or how to get out. Even with the roomy back seats I have, I'd prefer them as small as possible because they feel out of place in a sports car. A driver's car is all about the front two seats.

So if a driver's car is about front two seats then there is no point in even having the rear two as it is a compromise. Either leave them out or make them some what usable. I'm not asking for 7 series comfort.

At least civic si or rsx level is good I'm 6" and I fit in those just fine. For two seats only might as well get a roadster

Yeah totally. I think a Civic Si or RSX level rear seat room would work well. You don't need leg room to stretch out your feet in a 2+2, but if it aint gonna work might as well just leave it a 2+0.

Could you explain this to me? I have priced car insurance for comparable 2 seaters; Miata (new+used), S2000 (used) as well as 2+2 RX8 (new and used), GC (new and used) and Supra (used) and there weren't any significant differences between them. At most it varied by like $8-10 a month (comparing new to new, and used to used and comparing 2+2 to 2 seaters).

2+2

As long as there are 2 back seats, that's all I care about...and enough truck space to haul a set of race tires!

Physically impossible to put useful seats in this low slung coupe. If you plan on using them more than once every 2 weeks, I guarantee you'll hate them.

Those seats are back there for space to throw stuff and occasional extra person. If you've owned a coupe you would understand. It's not a sedan for a reason, because its not meant to be a people carrier grocery getter.

The driver's car has always been about the two front seats. And the 2+2 imitates that philosophy by almost making the rear seats invisible unless you need them, where you compromise comfort for usability. Ive never ever thought of rear seats in a coupe (aside from RX8) as actually being useful to carry people. Because the hassle you go through makes you regret it every time.
