One more reason I like living in Oregon. Twisty roads are just miles outside the city.

I challenge you to find one in South FL or 4 hours away for that matter.... It is pathetic really..

This is the truth. Tons of multi-lane straight, flat roads with a 5 minute stoplight every 1/4 mile. I've explored south florida quite a bit and there are some nice roads for cruising, but no good ones I found for driving.

My friend moved to Boca Raton years ago. His first trip home he begged me to come visit him so he could drive my car around for a while. He was going bonkers. Of course, he eventually gave in and sold the 944 turbo for a 5-series.

I'll be perfectly honest. The roads down there were one of the biggest reasons I didn't move down. That was the territory I covered for years, and my company would have gladly moved me down there (the cost of a move would have been less than weekly flights). I just couldn't do it because of the roads.

I think we are spoiled in Austin. All around the city we have the hill country with roads that wind around and small hills with scenery to drive around!
