Congrats guys! The black intercooler piping looks nice. Excited to see so many FR-S getting turbochargers already

I think by Xmas this year there will be more than a dozen established turbo systems for these cars, the pricing will soon be very low.

This one could be my pick of the turbo kits.

The other one at same level would be the AVO system - some Aussie ingenuity

Why utilize the Haltech over the factory computer? This makes the car not legal in the US unless in an emissions-exempt area.

I don't want to be out of line, but there seem to be a lot of AUS nutswingers in this thread. Also, the boost graph shows peak of 10psi falling to 9psi by redline. Not 8psi like originally claimed.

Kit looks good though, would like to see a wrinkle finish on those pipes though, just for that factory look. I'm not a fan of pre-formed silicon hoses though, too hard to find a replacement should the need arise. I would rather kits be made utilizing straight couplers for simplicity and flexibility in future repairs.

No BOV, I thought this was a well-engineered AUS setup? It looks good, don't get me wrong, but not running a BOV is going to hurt turbo response and thrust bearings. Now, I agree that the thrust bearings on the GT BB turbos from Garrett are very strong, but boost response on the shift is not going to be how I like it.

You will both be wrong

The BOV will be there or I eat my hat

Aussie like the homegrown turbo smart valves but could be something else

Let's see what those in the know say

I see, I definitely don't like it, sounds like something is wrong with it.

People seem to like the fluttering BOVs, I hate them myself

This isn't a shelf kit it was tailored to the owners wishes, and he talked about keeping the stock airbox which is not seen in that vid. Maybe the BOV is still coming or he likes the surge. FYI we can't run open BOVs they must be recirculated.

The owners (mz21) thread is here in regional forums.
