Clear bra wont protect you against the dents but it will protect you against paint damage for those baseball sized hail balls. Car cover wont do anything either since its soft. You need something semi rigid perhaps a nearby tree that you can build a carport under.

FYI hail doesn't typically happen during the winter, it's usually Spring and Summer as the sun starts heating the air/earth, creating strong humid updrafts.

Hail is a bitch, living in Colorado (in hail alley) its the only real weather problem that concerns me. I'm not in the plains, so tornadoes are not a problem, snowstorms are cleared pretty quickly, but hail, man, it can seriously f*ck some sh*t up.
