Easy my ass. It's harder then you think. No one ever factors in the cost it takes to import it, have it inspected, insured, etc etc. Not to mention dealing with all the paperwork to have this done. I wouldn't do it unless I have cash to burn and I seriously want a car that is over 25+ years old.

I have imported a few over 25 year old cars. It is not hard. The hardest part is finding what you want. It is a total crap shoot what is going to show up in the container unless you personally travel abroad hand select the car, and watch the car load onto the boat.

I always imagine what it would be like to go buy one of these off the show room floor back in the day. Must have been cool to get it with that factory fresh smell, instead of the rotted out car smell I always seem to smell in cars of this era lol. We have come a long way in a short period of time, and this car is a nice reminder of that, but at the same time we are going back to the spirit of the AE86, simple, light, balanced, RWD and a blast to drive. I am so glad the BRZ/FRS/FR86 are popular, as this makes me think other manufactures will follow suite! I was getting worried that we were heading back to the era of American "boat cars", as the new cars just seem to get fatter and fatter lol. It is refreshing to see a small, fun, and more importantly, safe car on the market!
Thanks, Rick |

So few examples like that left... Now find me a 1986-87 Supercharged MR2 in that condition!

I think our car market would be destroyed if we were allowed to import anything over. Nobody would buy anything local anymore, considering all the extra goodies that were available overseas. |

TT TS Just open your mind a bit and stop pretending this thread is an Apple/Microsoft fanboy debate... I still think it's a throwback styling queue to the original and that it is more than coincidence. I'd love to ask the designer. |
