When someone calls your car a "granny car", it's because you're driving a Camry. Camries are nice cars, and are certainly not "granny cars", but people see a 4 door sedan, and that's what they go to. If you were driving a MR2, those comments would be basically nonexistent. |

What I had meant was I'd rather have a stigma of boring cars (Toyota parent brand) than a stigma of ricers (Scion). I'm not saying that all Scion owners are ricers, but it gives FR-S owners a bad name. Then HunterGreene said it shouldn't matter what brand name the FR-S has, it's a great car and we should be happy that it's on the market. And I completely agree with him. Case closed. :happy0180: |

I don't understand how people are complaining about a lack of leg room or rough shifts (due to driver)... I fit fine and im 5'8". Lol... maybe that has something to do with it?
But like everyone else has said, covered storage/center console, and cup holder placement. I dont care that there's no steering wheel controls, the radio isn't really that far away. Once you know where everything on the radio is, navigation is easy. |

The only thing I dislike about this car is the shifter vinyl boot (and the handbrake boot as well). Holy, they are like paper thin and cheap feeling.
Everything else feels about right for the price point. |

The more I drive it, the more the torque dip bothers me. Nothing major, but that's become the #1 issue.

Mine's FRS.
I am with the clutch and torque dip. I thought it was me doing the bad shifting but jumping into a few other cars and I had no issue. I think that had to do with overly light clutch pedal and there's no mechanical feel of clutch engagement, compounded with torque dip. The AC system can use some automation ie thermostat based. That shouldn't add much cost and weight. i wish they make that CF looking thing.. to look like plastic, or CF, but not in the middle ![]() As ugly as the stereo unit came with FRS, i am amazed with its features, bluetooth music streaming, hd radio and all, iphone ready, etc. great seats. I don't expect good audio from most cars anyways, much less from a relatively budget car so this is already on the plus side. oh and headlight doesn't go with ignition i think... no car is perfect, i am fairly happy with it. |

My list
Barely had the car more than 24 hours now, but here's the first things that jumped out:
- Accelerator lag...really breaks up my timing for rev-matching - Dainty little girl clutch that gives as much feedback as a broken toilet flapper valve - Heavy flywheel? This could be more of an effect from the pedal lag - No steering wheel audio controls. Not taking hands off the wheel or eyes of the road to change tracks, volume, etc is great. Why would subaru not have this? An armrest would be nice, the shifter is a bit too far forward for my tastes, and some lumbar adjustment in the seats would be appreciated, but I wouldn't call any of these hates. |

-tiny, unerpowered engine with a huge, flat plateau on the power curve
-stock brakes heat up FAST on the track -tight fit for anyone over 6' tall -typical JDM uncommunicative clutch, it's either on or off--engages somewhere in the middle of its mushy travel -cheap, cheap, cheap interior makes my GMC pickup look classy -no locking interior storage

I still have my 240 with mechanical throttle, light flywheel, and a manly clutch to remind me. Switching between the two cars is quite awkward, and driving the BRZ reminds me that I really need to work on the 240's suspension.
