After some heated arguments about how car seats could easily fit and me having waited for three years for this car to come out I have finally come to the conclusion that I will not win this battle...So now I guess my question is what avenue would be the best to try and recoup some of the money I dumped in? What do you think someone would pay for an FR-S 6 speed in whiteout with Bespoke audio, dealer installed uv limo tint that comes with a lifetime warranty, Cusco Street Zero 40 way adjustable coilovers, 18x8 +35 matte bronze TSW Nurburgring rotary forged wheels wrapped in Yokohama performance tires, and the Five Axis kit with spoiler (not even installed yet)....additionally all the badges and the whole suspension was painted to match the wheels except for the springs, they were professionally painted TRD Red along with all four brake calipers?

Well, I hate to kick a man when he's down ... But you should have just sold the car to me in the first place.

If you decide to part it out ... I've been looking for a coil over setup and I do like those rims. I would be happy to drive up to Redding to do the swap, just tell me how much you want for them.

That being said, good luck with the sale and congratulations on the kid.

Don't do it! Having kids is life changing but it doesn't mean you have to drive a boring car.

I'd get a cheaper four door car and keep this one. you could even store it somewhere and just enjoy weekend drives until your kids are old enough to climb in the back themselves.

I've had my Nissan 200SX S15 coupe for 12 years and have a 4 year old and a 7 year old so had it all the way through the baby and toddler stage. It's when they are in a baby capsule thingy that the coupe is impractical but you can just wait that period out.

We just got a cheap four door car when the kids came along and now they love going in the back of my S15. They'll be dead keen on going in my 86 when it finally arrives.

Don't do it!!!!!!!!

Back in 88 my dilemna was 240SX or Pathfinder, 240SX or Pathfinder, 240SX or Pathfinder (baby on way). Of course we bought the 240SX. Loved the car for 254,000+ miles and of course there were countless times I said "shoulda bought the Pathfinder", but we got by. This car is about the same setup in the back seat area (2 seats in back strictly for insurance premiums) because I'm like 6'2 and ain't nobody sitting behind me. Same as the 240. You'll get by but cuss it when it snows and you gotta try and put a squirming kid in the car seat in the back. Better you than me....................

If you really feel compelled to own a four-door sedan, snag a used cheap Corolla or Civic. Just stuff the glovebox with No-Doz and Monsters, so you don't fall asleep while driving.

I'm guessing the wheels + rubber and coilovers + shipping were worth a decent early 2000 camry. Return the car to stock and get a late 90's camry for the wife?

This is so easy, I'm amazed no one's suggested it yet: keep the FR-S, sell the Toyota 4x4, and get the wife something she can use now and when the baby arrives.

Rent a 4 door car for the next nine months, after that the baby and wife will be fine in the 86.

It sounds like the wife already has a 4 door Civic Si ...

Edit: Never mind, he said he sold it.

Well, there is a alternative that no one has mentioned because it's not politically correct and I won't be the one to say it.

In all seriousness, I really, REALLY beg you to keep the car. I've never had a sports car in my life, but I still love my four door family sedan simply because I've put effort into it and it's my first car.

Women just won't understand men's relationship with their vehicles. For some women, it's just like "Oh, I LOVE MY CAR because it looks SO CUUUTEEE *giggle*". But that is not a man's relationship with his car. A man will put a lot of effort into making the car unique, fast, and while doing so develops a material relationship. Most women will never understand that because they don't do ANYTHING to their cars except add bumper stickers. There are exceptions, of course – *cough*mako*cough*sayuki*cough*

Sell the bodykit and put that money towards a used Civic Si sedan. You will have saved up enough by the time your child needs a bigger car. It will be a hassle, but for all it's worth, I don't think you'll mind.

Please try to keep it. I'd hate to see a beauty like yours go to some ricer teenager. Do whatever you have to keep it, but remember this: Your wife is far more important than a car. Cars and other material items can come and go, but making your wife happy should be priority number ONE. Never forget that.

Man I cant relate to some of you........my wife is ok with sports car and newborns..lol

I had to convince my wife to sell my sc300 in favor for a wagon. She wanted to keep the SC300 ...im like "are you daft? I cant fit a rear facing baby seat back there!"

So next year when i get a FRS or BRZ we are also hoping for our 2nd child around then too.
