Update, dealership has kept the vehicle over the weekend. They are waiting on a new part to come in from Japan and will continue to test once the new part is in. So far, it does not appear to have effect anything mechanically in the motor. Ill know more when i am able to talk with the Master mechanic.

Have a rental till then

Still itching to drive my car!

Out of curiosity, what are the last 4 digits of your VIN? Mine are 7394, so I think that may be why they never mentioned a new ECU for me. I assume yours must be below 7000?

Did he mention what the diff is between the current vs the "upgraded one"? Keep us posted.

Btw, where did you buy your Argento FR-S in SD? Was it from Frank Toyota?

I will def ask when i pick it up. I do know there is a TSB for a "upgraded" edu. Whether its is for the new customization or if the old ones were having issues i am unsure.

I bought it at Toyota of Carlsbad. They are a high flow dealership and get FRS' in on the reg. Great experience, great sales guys and they took care of me. Send me a PM and ill send u my sales guy info if you want

Right on. Only reason why I asked is b/c there was an Argento @ Mile of Cars last month and I though you might have picked that one up.

Hopefully this new ecu will fix all of the issues that owners are having.

I'm actually planning to wait till next year's models but I appreciate the heads up.

I got her back!!!! So..... I already had the new ecu but Toyota told them to change it anyways just in case the old one had bad memory of the wrong timing with the cams.

I def can tell it idles way smoother than before. I cant tell if it runs better yet because i have yet to open it up due to it still being broken in.

Oh, and the idle dip is not normal, so take it in whether u get the CEL on or not. He told me Toyota knows something is going on but need more people to report it so they can narrow down the true issue.

Road Trip!!!!

Variable camshaft control is via oil pressure. Regular camshaft movement is by chain.
