In Canada you get 1K off if you're a graduate in the upcoming four months, or graduated within the last four years. If it was next 6 months for us, I wouldn't have had to put my friend on the bill of sale.

I have a feeling that by the time my car arrives, I will be 2 years past my initial under grad graduation date. I plan on trying and tricking them with my masters.
I will bring in my 3 degrees...see if I can get a deal on ANY of them lol

You're from Regina in Sask, so you'll be fine. For Scion Canada it's last FOUR years:
Graduate Eligibility If you will graduate within the next four months or have graduated in the last four years from an accredited Canadian university or college then you are eligible. The four-year eligibility period will be calculated from the date shown on the graduate's diploma/degree. Applications outside the specific four-year period cannot be accepted. |

Masters works fine. I received the discount with my MBA.

I tried this and got turned down because it was 2 years + 1 month since I graduated and 6 months since I finished residence. What I should have done was talk to the Toyota HQ because the dealership I bought mine from (Longo in El Monte) told me I make too much money and residency doesn't qualify. I believe this program is through Toyota and that the dealerships basically only do the paperwork for you. I should of done a little more research but missed out

My complaint with it is that you're taxed and pay registration on the full amount because it's a 'rebate'.
I'll still take it, but screw California.

Also I do agree on the taxable amount law. When you buy things with instant rebates at stores, they tax you on the amount of the item after the rebate, not before, so why does a big purchase change that? Great question. |
