I also think the concept 2 is better. It's more like a proper sport car minus the fender vents. FR-S looks fast, but drives slow. the Body kit on FR-S show car is the only kit from 5-axis that I dislike. I prefer the front bumper from either concept 1 or 2(without LED).

To avoid competing with Toyota/Scion? It's still very possible.
I think it's very possible also that the Toyota will get the FR-S name or something similar. Think MR-2 or MR-S, both were Toyota. That would make the US version basically a Toyota that is badged as a Scion for marketing purposes in the US. Maybe I'm just being hopeful for a change ![]() .

Sorry that is a lame excuse. So Subaru wouldn't want to recoup their R&D costs by selling in one of the largest auto car markets in the world? Naaa I don't buy it. Subaru caters to a different crowd just like G37 vs 370z.

It was a joint project from the beginning but that doesn't mean they both shared equally on the inputs of money, parts, or technical skills. Plus even if Toyota gets the Japanese market and Scion gets the North American market for their version. That would leave the European market open. Subaru is pretty popular in Europe, from what I've heard. I still think they'll go with that arrangement rather than risk competing. |

Now now Allch & Tranz.
Again, we're just speculating. I can't remember Subie official saying they gonna release their ver in US or not (correct me if I'm wrong). BUT in my view, I don't think it doesn't hurt to bring Subie ver in US. Again, there are some ANTI-SCION ppl that want this car. If Subie ver do come to US, there's a sell there for ppl that want Subie over Toyota/SCION. If they didn't those ppl will buy Z, G37, Gen, Mx5, & other cars and Toyota & Subie will loose $. Even someone buy Subie over SCION, Toyota still makes a $, same goes w Subie. It would be wise to bring both ver, in my view. |

FR-S is dull and inoffensive enough to fit with Toyota internationally. Plus it's historically connected with the MR-S.

I'll hit the fan if some goon at Toyota decides that this car needs a different design in every region. Jesus, that would just about make my head explode after seeing the FR-S. Quote:

I wasn't at the Geneva show but according to autoblog Subaru confirmed there that they will be bringing a Subaru version to the U.S. "... that's what Subaru is now trying to convince the masses with its new rear-wheel-drive Boxer Sports Car Architecture. It's worth noting that the automaker has confirmed for the first time here at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show that the upcoming production version of this sports car is coming to America. If all goes to plan, production will commence in the spring of 2012 at a Subaru production plant in Japan. " |
