[QUOTE=tintumz22;373502]The CEL threw a code relating to vvti, camshaft, sensor.. Don't know the specifics until I get back to my dealer for all the parts and things to be done.

Oh man...i don't want to be that guy...but they are probably going to have your car for a WHILE! I know 2 people (one locally) that had this issue....they had to rebuild the entire top of the motor because the problem was there before the CEL went off. There are alot of these cars having this issue, its some sort of timing actuator that is failing to advance or retard the timing properly from what i am hearing. It will become a recall before the end of the year i am sure, however for now the parts are so hard to come by that they could have your car for almost a month. (based on my local friend with the EXACT same CEL you are probably referring to)...Sorry to hear this man, as mine will throw the CEL here soon i am sure..

Hearing from my Dealer that I'm the 4th person in their list to get the FRS but the FIRST person to have these problems man. it's devastating! Good thing is that my Service Rep got it into attention that he already took it to their management the first time I took it in and suddenly got a call one day the second time the CEL went on that the corporate ordered a repair for the CEL issue I'm having. Parts are already in that day they called me but unfortunately the foreman's schedule is not on timing to do the repair. (I almost demanded to give him overtime since it will be a warranty repair!!) So yeah hoping that all will be resolved after! Haven't enjoyed this car!!

it'll be better that the Toyota do this recall but you know how it goes.. they don't want to kill the hype that this car is gettin so they're taking the backroad and do the work behind the scenes. But i know for sure it'll be better to confront these issues for the customers assurance!

well i hope they actually fix yours sooner than my friends! she had to drive a camry for a month while they worked on hers! and they refused to tell her what the problem really was they just threw out a couple of words and VVTI was one of them and i started to dig into the problem further and found out just how many of these cars are doing this. TO ANYONE who is having RPM dips or getting close to stalling out just sitting....be ready for this to happen to you in time.

Yeah, I'm hoping that it will! One guy in the forum had the issue and got it fixed. Now he's gettin more miles and no issue or even pending code coming out. So yeah looking forward on mine! The good thing is it came out earlier. And also hoping I will not be driving a rental for that long. Crazy! I will be F**** !!

I just want to go to sleep so that it will be Monday already but man can't even go to sleep!

Asphalt and tnt in this thread have no problems with the car. Asphalt has 5k miles. I wish we had more of a sense of how many cars are affected relative to how many are not affected.

Asphalt, what are the last four of your VIN?

Yup i think that is an idea of a trending issue or not.. or just specific cars that had a glitch while in manufacture.

As far as numbers. EVERY single FR-S owner i know in my area is experiencing RPM dips frequently. Upon talking to my Service writer he said out of the 2600 that were sold in the month of june there were over 100 cases of people complaining about RPM dip. 45 of which threw a CEL and needed engine rebuilt and cam sensor replaced (VVTI actuator) just as a note i know 10 FR-S owners just in my local area.
