hahaha, I always pointed out to people that my old corolla has an oil cooler from the factory. It always surprised them. Well, it did before the car got really well known around here. Before that, to most people, it was just an old corolla. The RWD comment stumped a Cop once too when he pulled me over. Annyyywhooo...

I expect the "competition" model will have one as well. I not too worried about the brakes either. The 4-wheel disc on the AE86's are more than enough to stop the car, albeit, you definitely get a bit of fade goin' on after some heavy stopping. It'll be interesting to see just how large the rotors will be. Also, with them having drifting in mind when it comes to this car, I'm kinda interested in knowing how biased the braking will be in favor of the front.

lol yeah other people was wowed up about a 86 having a oem oil cooler and optional LSD I tell them yes toyota made sure this little car will be ahead of its time.

brakes are one of my most have, more than more power I rather have more stopping power, here my solution on my AE86. Its a RX7 4 piston calipers on a Acura GSR rotors, w/ a brake booster & brake master cylinder w/ earls steel brake lines.

o yeah my plans for ft86 on brakes will be 6 pistons AP carbon pads & sloted rotors

maybe 235/40 or 245/40, of course the total diameter would have to be pretty close to the stock size, but I don't mind going a bit under
The first number is the width in millimeters. The second number is the ratio of height to width. A 245/40R16 will have a 98MM tall sidewall. A 225/40R19 will have a 90MM sidewall. The difference in sidewall is relatively small, and the total height of the wheel from ground to the top of the tire on those 16's would be 602.4MM or 23.7", while the total height of the wheel on the 19's would be 662.6MM or 26"...
Your speedo will be fucked up.
(All of this is to say.. if you do plan on this change in wheels, make sure to get things adjusted.)

This is specifically my concern.

but a 45 or 50 on a 16 shoudn't be to bad as long you get re-111's...or any performance tire for that matter if they are really a performance tire. they have super mega stiff sidewalls that will flex a little at those hieghts in terms of rubber stress. But a little bit of flex is good i think. Not like my all-season tires though...the car dips hard when the sidewall gives out O_o

Wheel width probably should have been included.
17 x 7.5 or 8 to accommodate wider tires better.
