I dont like the "as is" disclaimer. Its not hard to guess that MKIII wont have a huge diffuser or bike brakes or 20 inch wheels or gullwing doors if it was produced. In fact, that was done by 5 axis . . .

They are not gullwing doors. It's a gullwing roofline. That's fancy talk for having an aero channel in the roof like the Prius.

What don't you like about the disclaimer? I don't get your point. At this point all we have in front of us are the prototypes. We can all speculate what the production version will and will not have and at what cost. Poll 10 people and you will get 7-8 different opinions. So the reason for that statement is to block out any subjectiveness about what the final version will look like. We have these 3 versions so we vote on these 3. No guessing what will and will not happen on the final version. Also you start chipping away at Mk3 with what won't be included and I bet you end up much closer to Mk1. |

For instance, there is a possibility if the MKII came out it might look similar to what we've seen in a fully loaded model. Same with MKI. But the MKIII was tuned by 5 Axis . . . same way the tC was tuned by 5 Axis. There wasnt ever a plan for it to come out looking like that, it was just an example of how it can be tuned. SO. I like to imagine my MKIII with a smaller diffuser, a normal brake system, and normal doors. BTW. enc0re. notice where the door handles are if you think its not a gullwing setup.

For production it won't have Mk3 goofy rear diffuser, rear exhaust, wide fenders...etc. Basically all you are going to get probably is a Scion labeled 3rd light. |

Rubbish. The design details in the car are just plain different. The elements that were "tuned" are obvious. The rear diffuser, wheels, brakes. There is nothing about the FR-S concept that would make it difficult to produce almost as is (body design wise) and it would be the biggest bitch slap Toyota has given us with this car so far if the decide to show that, then release something looking like the Geneva concept or uglier

Now when I look at the MKI it looks boring compared to the III.

I am right there too. I like the Mark 1 because it is the most realistic looking of the 3 versions. The Mark 2 was just ugly (IMO). I dropped the FT-86 from my “want list” until the Mark 3 was unveiled. I love the high front fenders of the Mark 3 but like the calmer grill of the Mark 1 and I am torn about the interesting dip of the hood behind the front of the car. I imagine that will be a polarizing aesthetic and they will drop it anyway. I think the head and tail lights are similar enough. I am willing to bet the production version of the FR-S will more closely resemble the Mark 1. Especially since Toyota/Scion is saying the car is only about a year away from retail.

Could you define "stock" for me? I assume you mean minus rear diffuser, exhaust, taillights, fender flares, wheels, brakes, side view mirrors...etc.? I mean at that point haven't you almost taken away all the unique features the Mk3 had compared to the other two versions? I'm not trying to rag on you, just honestly curious.
