i think 5000 for a kit is cheap. tuning is always going to be a factor. once you add a different exhaust and pump you will have to tune it again anyway..... all in all 5000 is a good price.

I initially scoffed at the idea of spending $5k on a turbo kit. But, after watching this thread, I'm more than ok with the price. Nearly 200 dyno pulls on this kit -- just in proving the kit works. It uses top-notch parts and judging by the construction of the AP exhaust I just installed, Don's not cutting any corners on craftsmanship either. If this kit is as beefy as the exhaust, you'll have something that won't fail anytime soon. Of course, there's the question about how the engine will stand up to FI but that's out of Don's hands.
If you like the results and don't mind the price, buy it. If you like the results but hate the price, save up or simply wait until another solution comes along. It's not like it is a one-off, patented idea. You get what you pay for and I think $5k is right in the wheelhouse for serious buyers that don't want to skimp on parts, craftsmanship and proven results. The sheer transparency of Accelerated Performance should count for something, too. We have seen everything from Day 1. We've heard about most -- if not all -- of the design decisions. Honestly, this thread has probably proven to be a great resource to other kit developers, too! It's weird that people are beating Don up over the price. He's gotta make money and if he thinks he can do so selling these at $5k a pop, more power to him. I don't think he'll have a problem selling a boatload of these.

I think people are referencing 6k as this is something most people save up for. As 5k is an intro price, they'll be looking at 6k by the time they'll be able to afford it.

I think they're also thinking about the tune cost on top of the kit. Plus some people will pay to have it installed.
That being said, if my BRZ had this power, I'd be like this:

Well I just wasted another 15 minuits reading about belabouring idiots going on about the price being to high. Stop this now it's damn annoying don't like it piss off. I built a prototype underground mining vehicle. Flame proof exhaust and supercharger manifold that took ages and I'm good at what I do r&d costs end of topic.

Thanks Don for the update. I have a mechanic friend who will do the install. My only issue is, since there has been a few bit of R&D into ecu which John has done on your vehicle. How will it work with Australian vehicles and the higher octane we use???
