blacked out tail lights are rice in my eyes. sidemakers/reflectors are ok though.

the closer to LA you get the more weird cars you'll see.

The numbers on the door and the 5m in the window look like identification, the other cars have something like that too and it looks like an autocross or something . It doesn't look permanent either way. The pic doesn't really provide much of a view to look at the diffuser either. That's the one I noticed the most out of the 6 pics.

Fart cans = beer can exhaust. I've seen 'em like that on trucks on the lot! I don't like 'em but some people like to advertise how slow they're driving .

I've seen only two Scions local that I can remember. One was a tC driven by an older gentlemen and the other was an xB sitting in the library parking lot. Both were completely stock. We've only got two Scion dealers in the state, one in Owensboro and the other in Paducah so it's not like we have a lot of Scions in the wild.

imo i gotta disagree on that one. cuz tailights arent meant to make the car faster or just make you thiink the cars faster. therefor it cant be rice. thats like saying someone is a ricer for painting their chrome door handles with black paint.

what about stickers or badges you dont think those are rice either? they dont add power.

Are they meant to add power?

Are they meant to advertise something? Are they getting paid for it?

I have an Amsoil sticker on my car, but I don't race. I have it on there because I sell Amsoil, and I have a Meguiar's sticker an my window because I do detailing and I like their products.

That's the extent of any stickers I'd use. They are also not on the paint, because being a detailer I can't bring myself do put a sticker on the paint.

they're not. but he said to be considered rice it must make the car faster. i can think of a ton of things that dont make a car faster that make cars ricey.

ie; neon underglow

i hope you werent talking about me. im just saying blacked out tailights or painted door handles or something arent rice because it doesnt advertise the car as a race car. such as a non functional removable scoop. if tinting your tailights is rice, then i guess tinting your windows is rice too?

tinting windows has a function. To keep sun from blinding you, keeping the overall cabin tempter down, and protect the interior from the harsh sun.

tinting your tail lights is only for looks and making it hard for others to see your break lights.

oohh ok now i see the confusion. im not saying completely blacked out like if it matches the paint, im saying a light tint so that its not so bright and red. but like i said, some things just arent rice, theyre just lil touch ups to the car, like a different color door handle :happy0180:

I didn't really pay too much attention to the 5M in tape, oddly enough. Though you do bring up a good point. I guess I'm just used to seeing really official looking numbers and there's something on the car that would say what it would be participating in (like D1GP, Super GT, ALMS) >_<

Guess I found the rear bumper body kit though when I was about to say "even though the photo quality isn't like omg amazing, the tC's rear bumper doesn't quite look like that though, can't be just a diffuser"

http://www.carbodykitstore.com/image...cion_tC_02.jpg

Wouldn't consider it rice, but I don't like it

Also, been seeing many tCs around here. Most of them tend to be stock, might have different rims, but that's just about it. Only ricer example I could think of recently was one that I saw on the freeway that had a GT-R emblem on it.

It's funny the difference between the sticker collectors and the really sponsored cars.

In my buddy's case (the white Supra I've been linking to a lot here...) he got a lot of stuff for free or heavily discounted because he had an Import Tuner photoshoot scheduled. AEM water/meth injection, NX kit, Schroth Harnesses, Tein EDFC, GoPro Camera, hat, other little stuff and discounts. So in the shoot he had stickers of all his sponsors (Manufacturers like AEM and NX, plus retailers/vendors for the other stuff.)

He has it on his car for a few weeks, but the instant the shoot was finished (contract obligations complete), all the stickers were off, even before he drove home.
