Im still waiting for mine. Ill be calling today for an update on this and my taillight.

When I brought the car in, I gave them the TSB number and said I dont want DRLs.

I will try and post pics up tonight after work of the install. We have been slammed with orders and haven't had to time post up info on the FR-S(tbs installs,Fixes to the DI system).

Can anyone confirm if windows down with the keyfob works (or any other features at that)? I tried to go to my local dealership (puente hills) to get the work done and they kind of just brushed me off saying that there were no features to turn on. I do know that there are as I've already had my DRL's turned off when I first got the car, didn't know at the time that there may have been other features as well though otherwise I would of checked then.

well hopefully Blake can tell us all that info. if not then what i would do is call in to your local dealership and try talking to them on the phone first. the lady i talked to confirmed that it is possible since she called toyota tech support and asked them specifically if that's possible, but i can't confirm if it's true or not since my dealership in fact called me about an hour ago telling me that it's still backordered... so i dunno.

So how do one tell if they have the new ECU in their car? I picked up my car last Saturday. Do I just call and ask? I personally don't like DRL on this car.

if your VIN is above 6034 then you have the new gateway ECU already

Ya see, this is what I'm thinking. The service writer I spoke with on the phone first of all had not heard of the TSB (I expected that). Once I gave him the info I had, he did his due diligence and looked it up and called me the next day to inform me of what it was going to cost "his" dealership. I got the feeling he thought it was pretty much a waste of "his" dealerships money to change an ECU just so some whining ass FRS owner can have his stupid DRLs turned off.

I have my doubts about whether or not he even checked availability much less put in an order. My guess is that he hopes I'm going to blow it off and he can save "his" dealership a few hundred dollars.

What Mr. Service Writer doesn't realize I have more mechanical knowledge in my pinky finger than he has in his entire body and I also effing hate dealerships. I want the upgraded ECU and I will get it. I'm simply going to call another Toyota house and ask the parts dept to check availability on the part number for the MT ECU. I will then go armed with that information down to Mr. Service Writer and see what lies he tells me because he thinks don't even know what ECU stands for.

At least that's how I play it out in my head. They may do me right and if they do I'll surely give them their due props.

I really avoid dealerships at all cost so I didn't know there is another person I can speak with. I'd really like to deal with someone who can get shit done without feeding me a line of bullshit.

yup! bring the TSB PDF and show them. or they wont know that it's even possible to turn off DRL
