Daytime Running Light delete TSB!

Apparently there is a TSB out for our DRLs.

TSB calls for a new ECU to be put in the car that allows dealer to turn off DRL's at the customers request.

Start taking them in fellas!

Thanks, but do you have a link or PDF of the TSB?

Nope. My friend at the dealership has his ECU on order for his FRS though. Just got off the phone with him.

I presume this is for FR-S, right?

Nice, but someone discovered this a month ago:

Read the post from ssmtsx near the bottom of the page.

I didnt see that, but that is still not the same as the dealer has to order a new ecu for your car for this particular TSB.

Correct

Hanakuso 07-16-2012 08:59 PM

I didn't know this was suppose to be an "option". I always thought the DRL legally had to always be on unless you have your actual headlights turn on

Ordered mine @ work today, i can get the TSB # or info if needed, as i work for toyota.

It would be nice if this is true but somehow I doubt Scion will volunteer to put in a new ECU so that customer can request to have the DRL turned off. Maybe its a ECU flash?

Bonburner 07-16-2012 09:18 PM

I'll drop by my dealer maybe and have a chat with them regarding that and raising the horn and lock siren noises :]
and also parking lot locator on haha

no its a real part, replacement of the gateway ECM. the part is around 600-700$ on toyotas dollar. just need to say you want DRL disabled.

anyone local to SE MA, i would be glad to help you.

covered under 3/36, flat rate time for the techs is .4

Thanks. So do will need to wait or we can just contact the dealer to request this? Once we get the new ECU, the dealer can disable and enable the DRL anytime?

correct.

after replacement, you can go in via techstream and toggle on/off, along with other options already discussed.
