check the PDF someone posted in the thread it'll tell you what range of VINs are within the range that need the new ECU.

Edit: or look at my signature... haha

that's what i was told by the lady, but i'll find out for sure once they call me to have the new ecu installed. or if someone with a later VIN could verify that'd be okay too...

I just got them to order me a new ECU. You just have to tell them that you want to disable the daytime running lights. Takes them a minute to find it in the system because most dealerships haven't done it before and it's all very new.

Just contacted my dealer (Toyota of Plano) and was told I do qualify for this ECU replacement but they are back-ordered and will let me know when it comes available.

Anyone else getting this answer from their dealers?

Call around to verify. My local dealer (Longo) just laughed at me when I mentioned this TSB and told me don't believe forums

Since they gave me a little "run around" when I first contacted them (i.e. had never heard of the TSB and acted like I was making it up) I'm not exactly getting a warm fuzzy on this.

I have a plan and I'll post the results up here later just in case they are searching forums looking for my sources.

And if someone from Toyota of Plano sees this.........ya better play nice.

If you check my post I was supposed to get this done by last week, but last Thursday my guy told me that it's backordered and that he'll call me as soon as he gets it. I never had to call him and he seemed like a nice guy so I don't think he's trying to give me the runaround. I think the issue really is is just that it's a new car and a new issue so they aren't aware of it just yet.

When I first called in I told the lady I spoke with that I had read about it on a forum and explained what it said on the TSB. She had her coworker go through all of their TSBs because she had never heard of it, but sure enough they did have it. Maybe you should insist that they at least CHECK to see if they have it which I'm sure they do. They probably only check for the TSB when someone has an "issue" that it'll resolve.

Like I said above, I would just ask them to at least check their TSBs. Also it may be worth telling them when the TSB is dated for in case they can find it faster that way. Good luck!
