I'll probably get a matching color shell, and a bed rug come spring. Other than that, it's more than good. Loved having a shell for travel in the old dodge. It's crazy what this thing can do. There is like nine cameras. I love the heads up display on the windshield. I can start it from my couch, or anywhere on earth with my phone. I can't wait for snow where I can start it (with doors locked) from the house, and have the cab, seats, and steering wheel nice and warm when I go out. |

I do this with my LYRIQ all the time, or leave it "running" while I go into the store. It uses about 1kW to run the AC or Heat, so I could actually go camping in it and sleep in controlled comfort overnight and still have plenty of juice left in the morning.

Did you get SuperCruise with it? I was skeptical I would use it at first, but last weekend I took a 1,400 mile round trip and I only drove hands on wheel about 10% of it.

Nope, no auto drive.
A couple things I did splurge on is I bought some warranty and service packages. I normally say no to those, but they sounded like a good deal, especially with all the electronic gizmos and screens. I extended the bumper to bumper warranty to 8 years, and bought an 8 year service package that includes everything down to wiper blades. Only thing it doesn't cover is tires and starter battery.

So, I gotta ask, what do you do while the car is driving itself? Play pinochle? Nap? Play trombone?

So basically I do the same thing as if I were driving except my hands aren't on the wheel. I listen to audiobooks, podcasts or music, etc. Technically I probably could play pinochle. Couldn't nap though, if you close your eyes the car knows.

Just like your truck it has a mode where it will "precondition" the car for an hour by just running the HVAC. You can also turn on the ignition and lock the doors after you get out and walk away. In theory someone could break into the car and drive off at that point. It's the EV equivalent of leaving your car in idle and locking the doors.
Some EVs (like Tesla) have an actual "Camp" mode that runs just the HVAC and the lights without providing power to the engine.

In a GM vehicle you would know right away, there is a light bar on the top of the steering wheel that is part of the SuperCruise system. It only lights when the system is engaged.
