I considered that early on but given daily duty and winter use in Canada I don't think spherical would suit my needs for the time being. Hoping refreshing 180k km OEM LCA with something with harder rubber can help Like the ones above. |

Donington and Oulton Park double header went well. No real dramas and the 86 was flawless. I think my biggest surprise was how good the a052s were on the street ha. I didn't find them very loud on the highway at all. Doing my best to go off memory I want to say these are a more useable street tire than the potenza race.
Both events were hot around 85F which for the UK is on the high side ha so far from ideal track conditions for my first drive on the a052s. I still managed new PBs from last year but overall I wasn't happy with my times. I really need to brake a bit later and harder going forward. I never noticed the front end moving around or doing anything odd like I used to from time to time at Mondello when pushing so the new control arms are working well ha. Can't really say if the anti dive kit did much hopefully I will pick up on the improvements with my events under my belt. Tire wear was also very even this time very happy to see that. Donington Oulton

You are so much quicker down crainers than me haha, doesn't help the last time I went there in my SW20 I binned it there so I was being super cautious. But it's nice to see someone elses 86 onboard for some reference.
I've got the exact same hardrace front arms too, I keep eyeing the A052's but they'd probably be wasted on me and my cup2's are still good. |

Yeah I wish more people had video I was the only person in my group of 34 coming over from Ireland taking video let alone any sort of data lol. The a052s are amazing so far really happy with them if they can last a season of my track usage I will keep buying them for sure. Btw I sent you a pm on the 86uk forum awhile back haha

It will be interesting to see how long they last you, I'm suprised they ride better than the Potenza Races.
How did you find Donny otherwise? I've honestly had some nightmare days there with way too many race teams and lots of red flags. I went this year but it was a novice day which was sessioned, which is honestly a rarity here but it went really well. I don't really look at the 86uk forum as it's even deader than here! |

We headed over to Anglesey for a track day and back-to-back sprint events. This will be my first time at Anglesey and my first time doing a sprint. We decided to go a day early to explore a nearby town and do a bit of sightseeing. Everything we saw, including the track, was just gorgeous. I was really taking a back by by the views. You can see for yourself in the photos and the video.
Fridays track day had its ups and downs. I went in with a goal of 1:51 based on videos I saw and my own time in the sim. My 3rd lap ever was a 1:48 and on pace for a 47 on my fourth lap but caught traffic. So I was very happy with that. I also had the pleasure of dealing with my first mechanical issue that side lined me after just two sessions. Luckily I was able to get it fixed for the sprint event and the car was drama free for the rest of the weekend Onto the sprints… It’s been a goal of mine to use the 86 in a timed event seeing as I haven’t done anything competitive since solo nationals in 2015. Javelin sprint series made the most sense as like auto x it can be done with a road car. The format is pretty simple you get 6 runs 3 in the morning 3 in the afternoon with your best run of the day counting. It’s a standing start and you end up driving nearly the entire lap of the circuit for each run. So Saturday round 5 was a bit of a mixed bag performance wise. My first run was good enough to win my class J10 along with the Toyota sprint series class CP but I just ended up going slower the rest of the day. As for Sunday grip levels were different run to run due to rain. The first run was driest for everyone so I really had to go for it which normally isn't an issue for me but I was a bit too timid. As conditions worsened I was pushing hard and getting pretty close to my first run at times so I left a fair amount of time on the table run 1. Luckily my first run was still good enough to win J10/CP again. All and all I had a great weekend and it really did remind me a lot of auto x both on and off track Thanks for following along and enjoy the photos and video.

Well thats my 2025 season done for. My last event was on Wednesday and Mondello Park which marked the first time at Mondello with the A052s...
For my usage I can't find a single issue with them over the Potenza Race. Wear seems fine to me after 6 track days quiet enough to use on the street and they're fast ![]() Feel wise I did find they inspired a good bit of confidence by the end of the outlap unlike the Potenza Race. This for me was the biggest plus as I don't really enjoy just lapping over and over. I will use the current set til they cord then order another set. Not sure I really need something like a AD09/Potenza Race endurance 200tw tire Laptime wise I found a full second 2:02.3 vs a 2:03.3.... 2:01s Are definitely possible as well.

Small update. Gave the car a quick once over today... Checked the oil, Retorqued wheel nuts, Checked tire pressure. I also wanted to make sure everything was good with the MCA traction mod since someone reported a failure.
Mine looked fine and all my bolts were still tqed as they were during install 6 months ago. Oh and my latest oil report everything seems fine the oil had more additives then normal for whatever reason
