Toyota and Subaru have broken with the tradition of discriminatory pricing for the Aussie market. The following shows prices in the UK in GBP and AUD terms (assuming 1.5 conversion rate). I have also provided estimates of what these cars cost in Australia and the price differential. Conversely, we may conclude that the wait list for the 86 is relatively shorter in the UK, because UK buyers are not getting ripped by other car manufacturer i.e. they have more viable alternatives. This only compares with 4 other cars but the list can be expanded to include every luxury/sport car and the conclusion would be the same: Australia is being ripped off compared to other markets. Thats the basic spec 370 which is pretty shit. The GT Spec is closer to £40k

And thats before you look at their used car prices. 40k pounds gets you a very good condition 997 911 or even an Audi R8, again if I was in the UK the 86 wouldnt even be on the radar. However, we are not in the UK so none of that makes a difference
