Interesting Thread about UK wait times for there GT86
This makes for some interesting reading about wait times in the UK for there version of the 86 ....

So basically their demand isn't as high.
Cool. |
Looks like business as usual TMCA shafting us again - nothing new here!
Everyone in the UK has wait times of 1-3 months no more, and we have 18 months, hahaha good one TMCA. |
Don't know how much that has to do with TMCA - they originally said they were getting 1500 cars for the last 6 months of this year and 1800 next year - that is allocation from Toyota Japan. So now they must work with (fight) Toyota Japan based on high demand.
The fact that the UK has lower wait times actually works in TMCA's favour - they can argue that Australia should get their allocation for next year increased. |
UK public has a lot more choice when it comes to cars than we do, if I was in the UK I wouldn't even be looking at an 86...

Exactly in the UK the 86 is about 3/4 the cost of a base Cayman instead of about 1/4 like it is here. No comparison, I dont care what Wheels mag says |

The car is way overpriced in England. It is very well priced here.
We're a much smaller market, therefore much less interesting to Toyota Japan. Even if we have more orders than they do, when our orders are delivered, then they wont sell anymore here, where as in a larger market, they may consistently sell more. Don't get me wrong, I hate waiting for this car its extremely frustrating, but its not TMCA's fault. |

Well technically it is their fault, if they made the gt 40k instead of 30k I think they would shorten waiting lists by at least half ;) |

Australia was allocated a certain number of cars, as already state, by Toyota Japan. TMCA are apparently in talks with Toyota Japan trying to get more cars allocated to us. While there may be things TMCA aren't doing well, supply isn't their fault. |
I started that list and cars are already starting to arrive. I ordered in July and am due delivery for 1st week of September. In the UK we have new registrations twice a year. As most peoples delivery was early August a lot of the UK buyers have opted to push this to September which allows them to have a new registration on the car.
Its a combination of wait time and dealer allocation. |
