Well I finally got myself a big brake kit. The dust shield in the stock front caliper have been shot for awhile now and I have noticed a bit of brake fade if I stay out past 5 laps.Also I have seen temps near 460F from my AP racing temp stickers on the caliper.
Hopefully I won't have any heat issues and just more overall confidence under braking. The kit I went with is from Godspeed They use a Brembo off a Renault Megane mk3 and a Godspeed 2 piece directional 330mm x 28mm rotor. I went for G hook and bolted. Bolt as I didn't want to deal with any rattling. For pads I am using OEM brembo for the street(only 50 bucks!) and CL brakes RC6s for track. Same as I did for the stock caliper Price was great much cheaper than anyone else at only 1000 pounds. I think the next cheapest option I was looking at was 1800. Godspeed recommends about 300 street miles before trying to do any hard stops like you would to bed in pads. Since I am still in the brake in phase I don't have too much to say but so far so good! No strange noises yay It's a really nice OEM plus feel around town with the added bonus of looking super cool

So bit of an update. The stock wheels no longer fit with the BBK so it forced my hand to get ARP extended studs and 10mm spacers. I wanted these mods anyway so no big deal
![]() Also wanted to review the Godspeed Brembo BBK now that I had time to live with it and just finished my 2nd track day with them. Street: Well they look cool and the pedal feel is a lot better than stock. The top of the pedal travel isn’t really different but the middle is a lot firmer and overall just feels nicer. Pads are also really cheap. I got Brembo pads from autodoc.ie from 49.70 shipped! I went with the bolted 2 piece rotor option as a floating setups have the potential to rattle. Happy to say noise wise it's the same as stock including the occasional low speed squeak unfortunately. Maybe better pads would help with this but it's really not bad and worth it for all the other benefits. Track: Nothing but positive takeaways here. My main focus was higher thermal capacity and these calipers are running half as hot when comparing temp stickers mounted on the caliper. In all honesty the stock setup with good pads and fluid is capable enough. I had loads of track days on me but when I started getting faster I did start to get a bit of fade and the overall feel of the pedal was just not great even before they got super hot. So now I have a better feeling pedal and brakes that run much cooler. Not to mention swapping brake pads is super easy. And as someone who pads swaps it's a huge benefit. In terms of stopping power they sure feel stronger. I didn’t think there would be much upgrade to the stopping power but my track data does back up what I am feeling. With the Brembos I was seeing peak G loads of -1.02g registered from an accelerometer and GPS Aim system. Stock calipers were best of -0.93 from the accelerometer and -0.96 GPS. Stock caliper was on 3 day old Potenza races vs 9 with the Brembos. TLDR: Very happy with the upgrade great pedal feel easy pad swaps and runs cool

Well on the 10th track day with my Potenza race tires they have corded
Good thing I have a set of A052s ready to go ![]() ![]() Even after 9 track days I still managed to set a new personal best of a 2:03.3 That makes 3 2:03.x lap times with this current setup. All done on different days at Mondello Park. Right front

So... What's next well I booked another day with division88 to have new control arms installed, JR anti dive kit along with a new inner/outer tie rod on the left to match the new one on the right. New alignment and just overall check of the car to get everything ready for my up coming UK track days. I will be going back to Outlon and Donington along with trying my first timed event. A javelin Sprint at Anglesey.

Back at Division 88 to replace my worn out control arms plus a new alignment, corner balance, Jackson Racing anti dive kit and new tires(Yokohama A052). I also had them move the rear shock outward to increase the rear wheel rate. Everything is now all perfect for Donington And Oulton Park track days on the 12th-14th.
These new control arms make a massive difference. Even on my road tyres the car feel super direct the steering wheel is heavier as well in a good way Those worn out bushings were messing with toe under load causing the inner tire wear I was seeing, Not to mention the car would pull a lot on the street. Pulling is now gone and everything feels to be working as it should. One might say the suspension is now connected :P Alignment specs Front Camber -4.2 Front Toe 0 Rear Camber -2.52 Rear Toe IN 0.10 total Ride Height Front 351mm Rear 353mm

What brand control arms are those?
I'm getting the same tire wear and have thought I might be a result of deflection in the control arm.. seeing your tire wear being similar to mine narrows that down. That Jackson racing piece looks tempting. Maybe something to consider next season. Last edited by RToyo86; 07-29-2025 at 10:50 PM. |
