I made these out of 3/8" aluminum. Epoxied them in place. They blend into the contour of the door.

Not sure what piece you're talking about? is it the mirror mounts?

Finally made it and boy was it worth it!!

Small recap from the last post.

Finally made it back to the dyno to finish the tune, took about 2.5 hours to get it dialed in the way i wanted but it feels smooth as butter now and has yet to have a fault/code.

Had a private test day a couple weeks ago that went pretty dang well! Went through a set of tires and 40 gallons of fuel but sorted the majority of issues and now we get ready for our first race next week.

The bad - Stock replacement radiator is not enough cooling capacity, went with savage auto works dual pass 3" now.
We went a little to aggressive on the camber, car felt great but the temps and wear showed it needed less.
Center of the hood is too thin and lifting in the middle at speed.

The good - Brakes are A M A Z I N G!! This thing stops so hard and confidently, every time. ABS activation just feels like a gravely/buzz - have to really pay attention to feel it.
Balance is fantastic, it just goes where i want with no drama. Putting the power down will better with less camber as well but even then it was super controllable, even without the TC. She still makes 350ftlbs with the massive detune.

Amazing job!

Did you make that strut bar? I'm also curious how you attached the grill to the bumper.

Sure did, 1-1/4" .058 wall chromoly tubing. Grille is attached with 3m panel bond.

First event went pretty darn good! Won all of our races and set track record on the first day, albeit the record was soft in my mind. Still working on setup, shock settings and alignment but were getting there. Car does everything I want but is super easy to overdrive and kill the tires, need to work on being smooth.
But for being off from racing for 4 years im pretty happy and its fun having to relearn plus gain new knowledge!

Pic from Hedge hollow event win, since I just realized I didn't post one!

Now onto the next round, at our summer shootout in Hallet, OK - that went to shit in a hurry. Driveshaft exploded rolling out from grid, didn't even make it past the cones getting on track. Hit second gear and rolled into the throttle to clean the tires and BANG!! whupita whupita whupita.......Thought I lost a cv shaft at first but not so lucky.....

Car looked good though

Driveshaft shop got me fixed taken care of and decided against the carbon shaft this time as me and Lee discussed the potential reasons for failure, we believe heat cycling due to close proximity of the exhaust which causes the resin to become brittle. So a 3.5" aluminum is on the way!

Next up is OIR in july, we'll be ready.

Other little updates, another BRZ getting a cage....

You doing this yourself? Cagekits? A cage is on my post-season to-do list, trying to figure out options.

Sure did, went through all the options before locking down on this one but a lot of people don't realize how important that is for a racing application!
