If everything works correctly with the drl line unplugged, you need to identify the conflict and depin it (the blue wire on the headlight is a good place to start). Alternatively, you can leave the drl line unplugged and just run the eyeliner with the parking light switch. If you still have issues with the drl line unplugged, then a further wiring conflict due to differences in the FRS harness is likely the problem. |

@pope,
Thank you for the further investigative instructions. Morimoto got back to me and sent me a new harness for vehicles with my particular setup. I believe they should update their website to inform owners of a Series 2 that they have a separate harness. I am happy to report that the new harness they sent worked flawlessly. Hope this information is helpful in anyone suffering from the same issue. |

Hey guys,
I have a 2014 BRZ (Canadian), and I just picked up set of these lights from an auction. It was just the headlights without the fuse tap, so I purchased one from amazon. I also picked up the fuses with I assume were a 3amp and a 15amp (confirmed from Morimoto) needed for that to operate them properly. I'm noticing a couple things: 1. Tail lights 10A fuse is blowing out everytime I hook them up. I've tried depinning the blue line from the OEM harness, however there's only one side that has a blue solid wire. so I'm not sure if I depinning the right one. 2. the DRL "line" isnt showing up with or without the fuse tap installed. I've had the same issue on my other headlights, so I'm sure its not the headlights, however I've checked all the fuses in both boxes, and the relays under the hood and they seem to be operating properly. Anyone knows where I can check as well? Thanks in advance for any help on this issue. UPDATE: Both issues are fixed. ![]() A reminder for those who have the Coplus Platinum headlights as opposed to the Morimotos the wiring is somewhat different. Instead of the blue wire, you'll be depinning the black wire from the Headlight plug that's between the yellow and white wire on both headlights. This will prevent the 10A tail light fuse from blowing out. Remember after that you can safely use the Fuse-Tap wire. Just in case you got the lights without the fuse wire, the Mini fuses that are use are a 15A and a 3A, doesnt matter which is on the top or the bottom. That one wire will split out to both blue single wires on each headlight. This will complete the install Last edited by Maafeu; 08-06-2023 at 12:11 PM. |

The site says the set only goes to 2018 but I can’t figure out why it wouldn’t work for the 2020. Thanks for the help! |

IIRC it comes with a harness to convert to the pin configuration you need. The lighting quality is so much better than OEM 2013 or the aftermarket lights I had before (spec-d) Here's a link to my IG post about them, I haven't done a formal review, nor did I do an install guide. The installation is super simple. https://www.instagram.com/p/C_SFmj0x...RlODBiNWFlZA==

Yeah unfortunately I really like the 1st gen one. With the RDLs on the bottom. It’ll go so well with the build I want. I just can’t figure out if it would work on a 2020 brz (gen 1.5). Since the site says only up to 2018 cars |

if they work with 2018 there's no reason they shouldn't work with a 2020. However, they also say their fog lights work up to 2017, but the mounting method changed after 2016 and the fog lights only come with the 13-16 flange. So, trusting their web copy probably isn't the best idea.

Can anyone tell if Morimoto 1st Gen (LF470) comes with the 8pin to 6pin adapter so I can use it for my 2013 FR-S? I bought a set from a private sale and do not see the adapter in the box.
Update: I called Morimoto and the harness does not come with the box. So not so plug and play. Then the other issue is they don't have the harnesses in stock anymore to support the headlamps and turn signal, and they do not plan on getting anymore. So I'm SOL with them. FYI for others trying to buy these 1st Gen lamps for their 12-16 year car Last edited by frs23; 10-15-2025 at 03:13 PM. |

I wonder if things changed down the road and they didn't ship the adapter anymore, but that doesn't really make sense. Do you remember if the adapter came in each of the boxes that contained the headlamp? In my package I have one large box with two smaller boxes inside. The two relatively smaller boxes each contained the headlamp. When the two smaller boxes are in the larger box there is no extra room to fit anything such as adapters. Well before reading you kind reply and offer, I did purchase these and they have shipped: https://modssociety.co/collections/t...z-frs-gt86-frs If they don't work, maybe I'll check in with you. Either way I'll provide an update here for everyone incase it helps. Thanks @pope!

All I remember about the way the lights shipped was a giant box containing smaller boxes for each light and extensive expanding foam packaging. I think the adapters were in a bag with instructions tucked somewhere in the giant box, but it's been some years, so that's more of a guess. I also bought my lights from The Retrofit Source, but I'm rather sure they and Morimito are the same company (website designs are essentially identical). Not that it makes much of a difference, both Morimoto and The Retrofit Source both say on their websites the adapters are included with the lights. The installation instructions at both sites say the adapters are included too. I realize you bought your lights private sale, so maybe the original purchaser lost them, but, if they're telling you the lights don't come with the adapters anymore, they need to update their websites and instructions. |

Maybe it is too early for me, but I am not getting the instructions on the 2017+ cars.
"Connect the adapter harness with the headlights, then connect the vehicle plug to the adapter harness. Finally remove the installed harness. Note: Do not use the 8-6 adapter harness"Install the harness, remove the harness, and do not use the harness. Am I reading that correct? |

I never stopped to actually read the 17+ instructions, but you do seem to be reading it correctly. Maybe they were drunk when they wrote it.
