2017 86 Air Condition performance question

When driving down the interstate at 70ish the AC temps at the center vents with max AC and recirc on while climb from 40ish to 60 something after about 10 mins of cruising. If I slow down to idle at a off ramp the temps will fall back down to 40ish. Now Temps in Louisiana are 100 degrees but the fact that it goes back down leads me to believe maybe the clutch is cycling?? Anyone have any advice before I take it to my local shop to have it checked out.
Car is stock except for stg 2 tune and UEL header. 28K miles

Thanks

I can’t get into the technical details, but the AC isn’t cutting it. I’m living in Houston, and from day one, the AC has barely been good enough.

Thanks for your response. So to clarify are you saying this is normal for our cars in this oppressive heat? Or is their something you know that can improve it? I did read a thread about the relay causing the compressor to not cycle properly. I may switch my horn and AC relays to see if any improvement.
Thanks again for your help.

Bump for anyone else that has had AC compressor issues. Shop says compressor is dying that under load the high side pressure is chattering. Still working majority of time so Ima hold off for a bit. Are our compressors reliable? I can’t find any info saying they are not.

It is normal for systems to loose coolant over time. Have the A/C serviced first. I am here in Dallas and had the windows tinted with ceramic tint including the windshield. It makes a big difference in how quickly the car cools down.

Apparently the OEM refrigerant is a very tiny molecule and over time it just evaporates. I had the shop recharge mine with a different one and it's back to being adequate.
